Just installed some built in robes and a pantry myself and of course the Mrs couldn't get it on facebook fast enough. Even photos of me on a ladder. Just occurred to me could this be seen as violating my retirement visa ie: working?

Its a fine line.. if you fix up a house and then sell it for a profit it could be working, just like those Phuket boat builders who were told they could work on their boat but not sell the boat then. (to prevent them from doing it many times)

But like you said in this case no problem, besides I wonder if the DOL would trawl facebook and then go after people working. In general they will have to be pushed to process someone. Maybe if you upset someone powerful.

I dont see them trawling the internet some how, but what was interesting was the TV post yesterday regarding restricted occupations in Thailand and its English translation which TV posters started slagging everything Thai as they do and it was taken down on the DOL website some hours later...

Do i think they read TV ? Maybe ? If its true then the knobheads on here bragging about their illegal activites should be very careful indeed and not suggesting the OP is a knobhead or doing anything illegal of course

I was always led to believe that any work you did on your house inside the confines of your garden walls was ok , but don't tell the wife I told her I can't help in the garden because its considered working and I am taking work from a Thai but its ok for her to do it 555

Thanks for the late advice! I no sooner finishing off one job she has an idea for another :-(
