Had a lot of trouble trying to get Italian flat leaf parsley seeds to shoot. Finally got some advice, water with cold water mornings. Came up quite quickly.

Have been up now for some months but growth very slow and stunted. Anyone have any tips? I added a little fertillizer which hasnt seemed to make a great deal of diifference

i think its a waste of time K. i have 6pots with,mint,carrots,parsley,chives,parsnips and tyme.they have been in 3months with hopefully 1carrot showing.

so next week its the other half of the packets to go in and thats it. tried toms, spuds, only success was basil and corriander.

I tried stuff like that. If it grew here the Thais would be doing it. Parsley in particular needs cool, moist conditions.

I have no problems growing either Italian or curled leaf in my vege garden I make sure it is in a semi shade protected spot (under a chilli or tomato bush or somewhere like that), water it regularly and feed it with something Nitrogen rich - fish emulsion is ideal. I have had less success growing it to pots.

As a general rule forget the usual advice for growing veges in temperate or subtropical climates eg tomatoes must be grown in full sun (Rubbish in Thailand!!) Experiment and find out what works here. Often it just takes a different approach, like the cold water every morning suggestion.
