Silom Coffee Shop?

Featured Replies

I'm in Bangkok a few days and I brought my laptop to work on a project. To my surprise, many of the coffee shops I know have closed down and I saw a couple that simply removed all chairs... I know a bit about the back story here with students and indepentent businessmen (like me?) tieing up tables and cafes unable or unwilling to simply create reasonable minimum purchase requirements. Anyway... anyone know a nice cafe to sit and do some computer work in the Silom area? I don't mind minimum purchases of coffee or cake. I looked in the window of the "Bug and Bee" and it looked like a disaster zone; that place closed down? I haven't been in the redesiged silom complex (been gone a couple of years), any good coffee shops in there?

It seems the coffee shop craze has come full circle with there being two on every corner to now being hard to find.

Thanks,

Drew

Try the two new coffee shops in the basement of CP Tower. (Below McDonalds) One of them is Amazon, and right next to Amazon is another one, Buy a coffee, nice chairs and tables to set yourself up to work .

They will give you the password to their wifi if you need it.

Starbucks.. Cheap coffee and you can use the internet for only 300b per month.

Why don't you just hot spot from your phone then you can set up anywhere your heart desires.

Packages available from AIS and DTAC.

I was in Bug and Bee the other week- it was all fine, unless something has happened since then.

There's always Au Bon Pain, across the road and heading towards the park.

Convent Cafe on Soi Convent (obviously) is worth a look if it's still there, not been there for a few months myself.

There's quite few places in Silom Complex although none of them are that relaxed or comfortable, but you've got Starbucks in the basements and then cafes on pretty much every floor up to the 4th.

Or head towards Chong Nonsi station and there's plenty of variety at Empire Tower and also Dean and Deluca (right beside the station).
