can anyone recommend reasonable priced hotel near Yanhee hospital for a few nights. Wife going in for operation. I'm not sure whether you can stay on site or even if that's the best option. Best to book direct or via booking site eg Agoda? Going tomorrow so any help appreciated. Similar threads very old ,sorry.

Yanhee is in a distinctly remote location from central Bangkok. I did a quick search on BOOKING.COM, my favorite hotel site and most of the listings I got were in the 4 km distance range.

I'm sure the hospital has listings for nearby accommodations. I'd email or call them.

I may have contributed to one of the very old threads you read, as for a short period, I lived close to the Yanhee Hospital. It is indeed "remote" by the standards of a first-time visitor to Bangkok. The only hotel that I can say is in any way close is the Royal River Hotel. The other place which I referred to in my previous reply has been converted to an apartment building.

It is easy to hang up a sign saying "International Hospital". In fact it is far easier than it is to understand the things that foreign visitors would expect to find nearby.

Well, there is Bangplat Resort, 990B per night with breakfast for weekdays. Weekends is 1200B a night, I think. But this is a resort run by Muslims, so no consumption of beer or cigs. About four bus stops away from Yan Hee. Much more convenient than Royal River. Very relaxing surrounding. Get to live in wooden houses instead of concrete ones. I know all these because I'm staying opposite at MarinaHouse.

Thanks for suggestions everyone and I'm now installed in P-park residence at 1090 per night. It's 400 metres, so ten minutes walk on same road as Yanhee. It's Muslim run but clean comfortable quiet safe and with good parking and helpful staff. It's on booking.com site but has its own website,so no add ons. Booked it over the phone on the day and just turned up and paid with Visa card. Simple and they gave very good directions. Even has a small swimming pool. Highly recommend for anyone else.
