Good evening all smile.png

I am a British national wishing to divorce my Thai wife of 8 years.

The divorce will be uncontested on both sides.

Could anyone tell me exactly what I need to do and what paperwork/documents I will need for us to get our divorce done in Bangkok?

We will both be present and just wish for it to be as simple as possible.

We have no children or property together.

I would be very grateful for a bit of help here.

Thank you in advance thumbsup.gif

It's very easy, you both go to the local Amphur, you with your passport and your wife with her ID and both copies of your marriage certificate. There are some forms to fill in and a small payment and thats it. I think some places require a witness, but when I did it they didn't. I think the cost was about 200 Baht. Takes about 30 mins.

Good Luck !!

Thanks very much.

We appreciate it.

I take it that the next thing to do is go to the British Embassy and register the divorce with them. I take it that I don't need any extra documentation for that part?

Just a translated copy showing that the divorce is official from the Amphur?

You only need to go to the British Embassy if your marriage was registered with them originally. If it wasn't my understanding is that once you divorce at the Amphur it like the marriage never existed to the rest of the world.
