PM1
Oh yeah and who is your source of expertise You have named a foriegn suspect already so obviously the bomb was made here most likely by him. Although you should start looking at inner circle not the falang. I feel that the falang was only employed to construct and complete Its Thais 100%
Fat Haggis
The Siam Paragon "bombs" were pipe bombs "placed "behind the pillars, same as these were, the Paragon ones just lacked the ball bearings. The "Bombs" not long after the Junta took control found inside the fire extinguishers in Bangkok, are just a larger version of a pipe bomb, these were rigged up with mobile phone initiators if I recall. The Koh Samui car bomb... yeah you guessed it.. another type of bomb that had explosives packed into it, and remotely/timer detonated. The IED's down in the south, have explosives packed into "something" and detonated remotely.. nothing "sophisticated" about any of these devices. The sophistication is the authorities lacking the knowledge about past devices, and too eager to talk complete <deleted>.!!! dageurreotype
Whatever....it must be a foreigner and it must be a foreign designed bomb......! I don't remember there being any news of the bombs detonation technique or anything being found......but, they did clean the site pretty fast...! Really clutching at straws now, mentioning someone that came to Thailand 4 years ago to teach bomb making training......why didn't they stop them then? Ah Jesuz I can't bear the thought of running into my uber nationalistic Thai neighbour today. The dog will just have to do without his walk .. dageurreotype
"And our in-depth investigations reveal that foreigners of unknown nationality came to Thailand in 2011" Have a word with TAT I'm sure they can shed some light on that little gem? As for the bombing technique being "taught by foreigners" Really? It requires foreign brains to put a pipe bomb in a bag, leave the bag at the chosen location and then walk away and detonate? Wow In a round about way that it actually quite insulting to Thais. The fact they woudl have to be taught something so bleedin obvious. Personally i reckon it was more likely someone Thai - simply because the tuk-tuk driver only charged him 20 baht for the ride.
TallGuyJohninBKK
""Such a technique did not exist in Thailand before. And our in-depth investigations reveal that foreigners of unknown nationality came to Thailand in 2011 to provide training on such a technique," the source said." So, he's saying the bomb-maker was Thai! All the statements in the OP are a whole lot of blather, trying to sound professional, but coming out as bits of unconnected rubbish and inconsequential trivia. My similar read was.... They claim to know these foreigners came to Thailand in 2011 to provide bomb making training. They know enough to know that. But not enough to even know what nationality / country they came from??? canuckamuck
So foreigners came here 4 years ago to teach bomb making to foreigners? Because they are saying the perp was a foreigner. Even have his name as Mohamed such and such. Fake Turkish passport and all that. Or perhaps this Mohamed guy came here to learn bomb making from the class of 2011. Because no one in Turkey has connections to bomb makers. This is the problem with restricting press freedom. Officials can spout any nonsense and the reporters dare not dispute it. They would be better off just saying this guy made the bomb himself, at least that is believable and not so convoluted. But then they couldn't spin a tale that includes internal politics and a further reason to restrict freedom and democracy.

Artisi
If it was foreign designed and a foreigner came here four years ago to teach bomb-making, presumably to Thais, how can they tell that the bomber was a foreigner? They just don't think these things through, do they? Think, are you trying to wind everyone up.
wprime
Mumbo Jumbo at its' best. "Foreigners of unknown nationality". How do they know they were foreigners then ? Of course we know this, Thai people couldn't do something like this silly.
BSJ
. According to the source, TNT was used for both pipe bombs. "Explosive powder was stuffed into steel pipes with a huge number of ball bearings," the source added. News Flash, Somchai: TNT is not a powder. And if Thais need a foreigner to teach them how to make a pipe bomb with ball bearings, then they are even dumber than I gave them credit for. You beat me to it! sanuk21
Firstly, the photofit of the suspect could be Thai. Secondly, the only reason that the pier bomb didn't cause casualties is because it bounced off a railing. If the suspect wanted to get rid of it, why did it get armed and triggered? It was meant to kill. CCTV footage was release yesterday showing a person deliberately putting the second bomb into the water at Sathorn Pier. There was no person throwing the bomb off the bridge above the pier with the bomb subsequently bouncing off a railing. It seems that the bomb was not meant to kill. arjunadawn
They are really jumping to conclusions to say for a fact this bomb was taught to them by foreigners when it can easily be learned online without any help Wrong. This bomb was decidedly the work of a very different bomb-maker. From the location, the blast, the secondary frags, the color and smokelessness of the blast- not a kitchen clown. Your statement would not produce a bomb blast like this with total consumption high yield

Most of the info on chemical reactions could be watched on YouTube, you could Google the rest I have met a few exceptionally smart thais, one of them being a surgeon at bumrungrad, we can't rule out 70 Millon thais just because the bomber didn't blow himself up like the other one... lildragon
So not only can the taxi driver remember there exact 20 baht not used by the bomber, he also kept it in an evidence nag as to not get his own finger prints all over it? tuanku
I don't believe any "foreigner" has ridden in a BK tuk-tuk for a mere 20 Baht since the turn of the millennium! Surely this is conclusive evidence that the person who took this ride at least looked and spoke like a native.
