Maximum extension of 15 day tourist visa

Recommended Posts

whistling.gif There is no such thing as a 15 day tourist visa, or a 30 day tourist visa, for that matter.

Depending on one's nationality a person entering Thailand without a visa, may be issued a:

  • 15 day visa exempt entry or
  • a 30 day visa exempt entry

Nationals of G7 countries will be given the 30 day visa exempt entry stamp, other non G7 country nationals will often be given a 15 day visa exempt entry stamp.

I am not sue about the 15 day entry, but under a new law since August 2014, 30 day visa exempt entries can be renewed at your local immigration for another 30 days for a fee of 1900 Baht for one more 30 day extension. (only one extension)

As I say, I don't know for sure, but it may also be possible to get a 15 day extension also for that same 1900 Baht fee.
