As mentioned before the average age on TV seems to be somewhere between 60 and dead, most Thais play online PC based games, transient younger tourists do not bring xboxs along, and your younger expat teacher is usually spending their meagre salary on silly things like rent, food, drink, and socialising. Haha yeah well it doesn't cost anything to try, and even though most people here are old, they might know someone with one or have kids who have one I don't know, but its worth a try. I never missed a Halo release yet, I wouldn't mind not play it but if there a way, you bet I'll find it. As for craiglist, I looked and there not a single xbox one for sale, even if there was, I'd offer the guy to rent it, not buy it, I found a place who sell xbox ones but even though I need my halo fix, I am not spending 18k baht for this. (for the last 2 years!! lol) as my birthday is approaching.. i figured.. i may just finally buy it this time around.... a few concerns.. because i have read mixed reviews on playing xbox one in Bangkok... i have a decent (being very nice here) true online internet connection... a nice big 50" HD TV (is 50" still big?) and.. a little bit of floor space to play (hoping to use kinect games more). can anyone share insight on the following? 1. any problems with getting games? or using online services? 2. should i get brand new or second hand (are there reliable modded boxes? for the xbox one?) 3. how much floor space do i need to use the kinect ... esp for 2 player type games? 4. any fun games to suggest? i work long hours.. and i enjoy playing silly games just for fun.. or perhaps even get some exercise? i also enjoy shooter games and racing games.. but light hearted type (if they even exist)... sorry for the numerous questions!!! and thank you in advance! btw.. a year a go.. xbox one was going at 35k baht.. at Paragon Dept store.. No problem getting games, I already found a bunch of places selling them but as for online play/services I am really not sure, I heard people saying it works fine if you have a decent internet connection and you'll mostly be matched against people from east asia, but if you want to play against or with north american people you need a VPN setting on your router and it will probably lag, which is expected. If online really matters to you, ps4 is the right choice here in asia (unfortunately) 2. I haven't heard of modded xbox ones yet, but even if there is, you will likely not be able to play online. 3. not that much, the lens on the kinect is pretty wide, for one player, you can be 2 feet away from it and it will be fine, for two players, I would say 1.5 meter is fine. 4. Halo 5 of course, other than that there is a good bunch of good games but it really depends on your taste, you'd really have to look by yourself by looking at some gameplay videos youtube, if you can guide me a bit more on what games you like, I can help as well, as for exercise, there is some kinect games that should work just fine, I can't tell you which though as I never really used my kinect. As for the price, I contacted CHAMPGAMES not long ago and they said its 17k-18k baht and you need to make the order first since they don't have it in stock which take them a few days to receive. I doubt I will be online enough to make it worth your while but thanks for the thought. Always worried about warranties on electronics here... Lazada says no warranties on all... I may check Paragon Dept store again to see if they have warranties... Will also be visiting fortune tower.. the IT mall in bangkok... Thanks for your replies!! So depressing I was at Siam discovery and the shop at ps4 demo but xbox one was unplugged... haha Oh well... I wish they would launch in Thailand this year!!!
