Police seek arrest warrants against three more foreigners

The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Police are seeking arrest warrants against three more foreigners suspected of being involved in Bangkok bomb attacks and having connection with the bomb suspect arrested in Nong Chok on Saturday.

A police source said police investigators of Nong Chok police station prepared evidences for seeking arrest warrants and went to the Min Buri Court at 5:30 pm to submit the request.

According to the source, the three were seen on CCTVs entering and leaving rooms No 412 and 414 of the Pool-anan apartment in Nong Chok.

The two rooms were rented by the suspect who was arrested at the apartment on Saturday.

Police asked the court to approve warrants for the arrest of the three unidentified foreigners on suspicion of having explosives in possession.

The source said investigators believed there were six foreigners involved in the bomb attacks but so far, they have evidences to seek arrest warrants against three of them.

They did not identify them to the public. In any case, a warrant for the arrest of person or persons unknown is not so unusual in the U.S. The warrant lists certain features of the suspect or things known about him. The most common way to do this is with a photo or video.

...the way this is being pushed in the media....

...don't think things will get any better for foreigners in the near future...

...and this comment about 'foreigners trying to get revenge for unfair treatment'......

...wow....bad sentiments being piled in our direction.....

...this is not a group of tourists....

...surely it is political.......

...who orchestrated it....what was the motive or objective.....

...as for who was hired.....that is something else...

...this was organized...they appear to have brought 'foreigners' in to Thailand...with experience (?) in these matters.....(?)...

...the big question is...who are ....THEY.........

...we don't need a whole nation blindly turning on foreigners now...these guys were hired.....

I don't take it to heart every time the word foreigner is mentioned in a news article.

How can you issue a warrant without knowing the identity of the person? [emoji15]

I guess it is common/standard police/legal practice here given that the person(s) may have many aliases, and/or their exact identification details are unknown.

Some solid leads based on dumpy Apartment building having better surveillance than Bangkok metro.

According to a reuturs report this morning when they interviewd a Thai occupant who wishes to remain unamed, they said they immediately likened a second taller man who visited the apartments to the CCTV bomber.

So police may now have some better CCTV footage and first hand wittnesses from the apartments to identify the suspects.

I think police have wised up a bit and are not releasing the nationality at present.

They did the same for the first guy and they arrested him successfully. They obviously have

the names and not being Thai nationals they are not announcing the names and giving

the suspects a heads up. tongue.png

Jeez you guys are never happy. They're looking for further suspects that they've identified from CCTV. Give them a chance. You know, they may actually be doing a good job behind the scenes this time.

Absolutely spot on. Congratulations to the RTP for this arrest, good work indeed.

It seems here in this forum so many will just always put down the Thai police no matter what they do. I applaud this arrest they have just made as that would have taken a lot of good police work to make it possible, and it really does seem pretty sure they do have one of those truly responsible. So I ask folk to stop just knocking the RTP all the time and it seems whatever even good work that they do they are proclaimed wrong and incompetent. It seems in so many folks eyes that they just can never do right, so unless there is solid real evidence to support that conjecture then best to shut it IMHO. Sure there is always some incompetence in ALL police forces even within the what are generally considered the best in the World UK police too and for sure certainly seems plenty of it here too, but how about some praise when they do get good results form good work.

Sure in cases like the Koh Toh murders there is some apparently solid evidence of police incompetence and/or corruption, but still nothing proven yet so all is still only conjecture there too. All I hope is that with insufficient evidence and all the cock ups, that those Burmese guys if truly innocent or no real proof of guilt are not sentenced for something they likely did not do, whilst the guilty one gets away it through what is considered by many as serious corruption.
