September 2, 201510 yr What are the documents required to apply for a guardian visa at a thai consulate outside of Thailand. I came here on a tourist visa, opened a bank account, have transferred 500k baht into the bank account. In the mean time my kids also got admission into an international school which provided paperwork for them to apply for an ED visa in Malaysia. They have been granted their 90 days ED visa and will return to join and commence school. I will now leave and travel back to my home country to apply for the guardian visa on the merit of one of my child's ED visa. So I have 2 questions: 1. Can I apply for the guardian visa In my home country with a copy of my daughter's 90 day visa as well as other supporting documents to prove I am her biological mother. 2. What is the complete list of documents required for submission for the initial Guaridan visa? My husband is a consultant here and he has a visa which his company got him but we can not be his dependents because he is not a permanent staff of the company. Therefore we got ED visas for my kids to study and live here and I would be their Guardian. Will appreciate an answer to these 2 questions. Thanks.
September 2, 201510 yr There is no guardian visa. You can get a non-o visa based upon being the parent of a child attending school. You could of gotten your non-o visa at the same time they got their non-ed visa by showing their birth certificate.. You should not have a problem getting the non-o visa by having copies of their passport photo page and visas. It would be easier if you could wait until they get their extension to attend school.
September 2, 201510 yr Author Thanks. I could not travel to Malaysia with the, because I am a Kenyan passport holder and thus can only apply in my home country. That is why I could not apply with them and will have to go separately next week. I also cannot wait till there extension is done because that will only be in December. The kids cannot live without me for 3 Months. So can I apply with a copy of their 90 days plus birth certificate, plus passport, plus letters from their school? Extensions for 1 year will be assisted by the school. I also already have a bank account here with 500k deposited in it since 31st July.
September 2, 201510 yr Besides their visa pages you will need copies of their passport photo pages. Paperwork from the school will help but my not be mandatory. I suggest you contact the embassy in Nairobi to confirm their requirements. http://www.thaiembassy.org/nairobi/
September 2, 201510 yr Author Thanks. I just spoke to Thai Embassy in Nairobi and they told me I can apply in Nairobi for my visa even with my children's 90 day ED visa as one cannot expect a parents to live apart from their minor children for 30 days until the child's extensions are stamped. Thank you ubonjoe for pointing me to the direction. Much appreciated.

September 2, 201510 yr Author Thanks. I will be carrying all originals with me and also planning to get the copy of birth certificates notarized by the Canadian Embassy here in Thailand. Just Incase they ask for a notarized copy.
