Her indoors has demanded we get a pet for my ungrateful, over-weight step daughter. That sounds harsh but the thing is really a lost cause. Already been booted out off two tech schools but that's another thread in itself. I have a weak heart and I can't deal with drama. I also can't deal with a demanding pet.

TIA from one very stressed out expat in Rangsit

It's some kind of gurney, right? We have several tripods around the house. GF collects odd stuff from the market. I'm worried of her looking for enjoyment with the new pet and crushing it with her thighs in a moment of excitement.

Spiders make good pets for teenagers.

you can forget to feed them and they'll be ok.

I went to the pet shop to get a pet spider. thb2000 they told me..

I said I'll get one off of the web.

Chatuchak, just outside Chatuchak around the corner I think. Of course depending on how deserving you might just grab a soi dog. Don't forget the fleece powder, although again you might want to put that in perspective with the 'deserving'.

They were selling bush babies at Chatuchak last time I was there.

Gerbils are good but they are very active at night, run inside that cage and really make a racket. Rabbits are fairly harmless, don't get a long-haired one. She can always eat it if get tired of it. Read her the law of the house re taking care of the animal and don't get sucked into any of the efforts there.

If it's a dog, it will be one of those disgusting ankle biters and if it shits every where, she better be there to clean it up. If not, step in it and she can clean the whole house (wear shoes).

If it's a cat, just say no.

If it's a ferret or similar, just say no.

A rabbit sounds good. The long floppy eared ones are best, I hear.

Put her on a sportsclub, she'll loose weight and make new friends.

Or a rabbit, guinnee pig, parrot.

Or put a bowl outdoor and tell her to feed the birds and wildlife.
