There. Done and done. Now, all of the knobheads who were so worried about how much time & effort people were spending on this, with sooooo many higher priorities pending, can relax. The footdraggers will be saving loads on shoe leather, too!

But no joy in Thaksintown tonight I guess.... Awwwww.

Now let the shrill carping & whining begin! clap2.gif

... In conjunction with the gloating!!?

Gloating? Nah. More like relief that the garbage truck has finally come by and emptied your bin.

Now get the man in a jail cell where he properly belongs, and you might see some serious gloating ...

Won't happen. Comrade Napoleon needs Snowball to justify his existence. Why else would he not be lifting a finger to get him extradited if he is so convinced of the validity of his conviction and the other charges he is yet to answer?

No one in his right mind really wants Thaksin back in the country because of the unrest it would stir up. I think that's pretty obvious. It doesn't mean that he wouldn't or shouldn't go to jail, just that it would without question fracture the country and be totally counterproductive to stability, getting him back in the country to do that. That's what naked ambition and self-interest disguised as populism - which is bad enough in its own right - does, and Thaksin raises that malignancy to the next level. The national interest and public harmony are nowhere on that sociopath's to-do list.

His cult followers are so obsessed with the idea of keeping the Thaksin "legacy" alive, they're blind to the fact that it is THEY who are obsessed with it, and THEY who are doing everything possible to pump up the volume and erect speed bumps, not everyone else who is simply content to bask in his absence. This whole thing about his police rank is a perfect example. It could have been handled in the most common-sense, matter-of-fact, page 4 news, routine, and expeditious manner anyone can imagine. The guy's a convicted criminal and fugitive FPS. Why would anyone with a brain cell to spare even want to discuss preserving his police rank of all things! But no. The footdraggers yelled & shrieked and kept parroting that it was the "Thaksin-haters" who were obsessed rather than admit it was they themselves. The vast majority just plain know better, no matter how many times the lie is repeated. Again, some members here in this forum are a perfect example.
