wife and i from cm will be going to krabi for one week

can i hire bike at airport and leave it there on return after one week

also any sugestions of god place on beach to stay with no silly farang prices

No, you'll need to jump the group taxi into Ao Nang,then get your bike there, taxi it back on the way out.

Loads of places to stay, J Hotel with a balcony, somewhat ocean view, 600-800tb, all along there headed away from the beach tons of places 500tb or so. Also, the road that parallels Hat Napparat where there is a Mercure and a couple other of the chain hotels, there are inexpensive guest houses in-between those overpriced chains.

we travel a lot stay one night on road 400to 600

if staying longer on beach with english tvand breakfast 800 to 1200

went alot to patong over years but dont like now paid 800

There is no beach in Krabi Town unless you count the mud in the river when the tide goes out. For a beach you need Ao Nang which is about 30km from the Airport.

Many many hotels and guest houses in Ao Nang but very few are on the beach and you must cross the main road from most.

There are many scooter hire places in town and it will cost you about 150-200 baht a day to rent.

Best bet to get from the airport is the bus transfer service. There is a desk in the arrivals hall, you pay your money, walk outside and a guy takes your ticket and asks your destination then get on the big white bus. They will drop you at any hotel or guest house you ask.
