BANGKOK: -- Police have managed to identify the suspected yellow-shirted bomber responsible for the Erawan Shrine explosion which killed 20 people and injured more than 120 others, said Pol Gen Chaktip Chaichinda, the deputy national police chief, on Saturday.

However, he declined to elaborate or to confirm that the suspect arrested in Malaysia by Malaysian police was the suspected bomber or not.

A well-informed police source said that a Pakistani, identified as Abdul Tawab, who allegedly twice transferred about 330,000 baht into the account of Mr Imra Davutoglu, Turkish husband of Mrs Wanna Suansan both of whom facing arrest in Thailand.

Police believe that Tawab was involved in the bombing incidents, said the source.

Tawab rented a room at Chutha mansion apartment in On-nut Soi 44 but has already sneaked out of the country on September 5.

Sneaked out of the country? Did he hide in a tin can? Or did he just cross the border like any other tourist leaving Thailand, with out without a fake passport or paying the immigration officials. He didn't sneak out they let him out.

So more hot air until its verified. The only thing you can guarantee on with the RTP is ineptitude / unprofessionalism in spades. What a shower

I honestly believe the RTP would now be looking exclusively for people wearing yellow T shirts just in the blind hope they strike it lucky

Your smug self has added nothing to solving the crime ,so back in your box ,like a lot of others here.

You would hope he has been identified as havent they issued an arrest warrant?

Nothing would surprise anyone as I suppose the blanks can be filled out later but didnt they have other countries searching as well?

Maybe searching for the yet to be identified supect. We can only laugh.

Well according to media outlets on the Net Malaysian authorities have arrested 2 suspects after they slipped through the Sungai southern notorious mafia controlled people smuggling border point.

It is reported in many foreign media outlets that this wild west town has Moselims from malaysia freely walk across the border not far from check points to have a good time girl at local bars then go home same way whilst keeping their faith intact.

So when will the Thai authoities acknowledge this arrest or maybe the suspects will be released and re- arrested on the Thai side tommorow.

Mr plod looked very happy in the Pic so maybe they have 2 more????

He probably went straight to the airport. It would take time to inform the airports who they were looking for. By that time he would have left the country

"Police claim Erawan Shrines suspected bomber identified"

Okay, claim it for the next hand picked suspect in the next headline as well, and in the following headlines, too...

Some of you speak such nonsense. How did you manage to work out the probability of someone you don't know using the airport? Utter nonsense.

If I bake up a big, stinky air biscuit in one aisle of a supermarket, it's quite proper to describe my next move as "sneaking out" of the area.

Has nothing to do with corruption or fake passports.

Has everything to do with intent and motivation. I suspect his intent was to get out of Dodge before the explosion and subsequent scrutiny (if not a lockdown) at the border. That's "sneaking" out.

Never seen the goings on at the southern border?

Daily practice at the train crossings. No doubt a few meters away there is even more.
