Cheers Tim, I already have my husband calling the embassy on Monday to put out feelers & I will check with her about the original birth certificate as I know the ex, at one point in the past, did burn the boys documents including his UK passport. Fingers crossed.

Aah .... well that says something - to me that sounds like mom and dad are seperated and that mom is looking after junior - Correct(?)

In which case as the career and in custody of junior her wish/desire is going to carry a lot more clout than dads. Sound like that in its self may give her a big uper hand when it comes to making decisions regarding the child - but on this am experesing a gut feeling - I have no evidence to support it.
