Am sitting somewhere in Kanchanaburi with tissue stuffed in my ears and I still can't hear myself think ...those around are folding bits of paper. Still one and a half hours before the monks turn up.

I'm not too keen on funerals anyway but feel I should support my wife ...it's a distant relative ...all you lot do the same ...suppose I should be used to this after been here quite a few years.

Moan over ... at least it's not for my benefit ......

Trying to cheer you up a little.......

When I read the beginning of the second paragraph ..."I'm not too keen on funerals anyway but feel I should support my wife" I thought for a second it was hers. Sorry blink.png

Reminds of the tale of the two golfers on the ninth hole, a funeral cortege drives slowly past on the road outside. One golfer takes his hat off and bows his head. The other golfer says "that was jolly decent of you old chap", to which the first man turns and says..."well, it is the least I can do, we were married for forty years"whistling.gif

I should have stayed in Bangkok

Indeed you should, then you could have shared some of Wifey's delicious Spicy Fish :P

I just found my truck boxed in by a herd of motor bikes ... spent ten minutes extracting it so can have a swift get-a-way ...hopefully.

funerals in kanchanaburi seem to last for weeks the loud noise people call music will shake the walls of your house and start at 6am

Back in the 1990s my Indian pal said that funerals in rural areas went on for ages until TV arrived and then it was a couple of days with a quick return to cricket and the soaps. So long funerals are probably indicative of a lack of quality in broadcasting.

Don't complain, yesterday I spent two and half hours stuck in traffic jam going from Pinklao to Rachada.

Btw, my offer to go to Khao Yai to escape traffic jams and hot weather is still valid. Crossy can join too, with his ox cart he will feel right at home ;-)

Thanks ... yes I hadn't forgotten, just need to fit it in. Next time Mrs JJ is back from 'her jaunts around the world' call in and we can also do 'Pinocchio' again, it's getting to be our 'regular' now.. We are off to Phu Tub Berg on Monday for a 'cooling off'.... not exactly my choice as I understand the accommodation doesn't have many stars! See you when we get back.

Never mind. Funerals are a group thing. You go to theirs, they'll come to yours should the occasion arise, which hopefully it won't. You're guaranteed a good sendoff.

To the op, everyone will be drunk soon & the music turned up to ridiculous levels

Get away now, it's nothing to do with you

No one will speak to you unless they want something
