Thai passport office Chiang Mai, how fast is the turn around

Featured Replies

Oops, on the way out of the country, but our daughters passport has expired and we forgot. Plane leaves at the end of the month. I need to know if the CM office will be open on Tuesday this week, and how quick they get a new passport in our hands. It's a 3 hour drive for us and we don't want to do it more than necessary.

Thanks for your polite replies.

I used Chiang Rai passport office in 2012 and they had a 7 day turnaround. They took the photos and then sent completed applications to Bangkok. Passports were then mailed to us.I would think Chaing Mai would be similar.

I would think Chiang Rai would be a better option. The office is in the same building as immigration.

My wife applied for a passport at Chiang Mai office in June. She completed the application form, had the interview where they took her photo, and paid the fee in about 20 minutes. She received the passport using EMS in a week.

Very good service.

Really. They have an office in CR? That would be great. I thought CM was the only northern option.

Just walk through the immigration office and into the next building. I believe it is the first door on your left, if I remember correctly. My wife renewed her passport there last year I believe. They told my wife 7 days but it arrived in 3 days.

Chiang Mai office normally has the passport mailed to you in 7 days.

passport posted to your home address, within the week.very efficent,

Sounds like you're in biz, buddy. Villagefarang to the rescue one more time, LOL. thumbsup.gif

Chiang Mai passport office at Ruamchok junction on Chotana did a new passport from scratch for my Thai wife in about a half hour. Very professional, and far better than the stuff I have to put up with at Immigration.
