The foreigners tend to be their own worst enemy. Alcoholics tend to attract trouble wherever they go. Never had a problem in a Thai bar. Foreign bars i just avoid. Too many dumb apes.

Yeah.....All you can drink for 800B....One guy of 6 takes his shirt off and gets bounced.....

Trouble already....The bouncers see 6 guys giving the uncomprehending drunken confused/angry/macho men stares while trying to figure out what's happening → and it's on......

Amazing - same stuff from the same areas over and over.....

Swimming with the sharks and chumming the waters at the same time.....Easy targets......by the looks of it too drunk to defend themselves and more to it than what they disremember....

What does that have to do with them being beaten?

These incidents are getting more news time domestically. It seems the media have gotten the taste for these stories and given they keep coming the conversation is alive and well about the dangers and negatives virtues of Thailand for travelers. The koh tao incident is being closely monitored as are a number of other current assaults in the courts.

The immaturity of Thailand's administrators to not properly attend to this is indicative of so many of the countries problems. And they cannot do it. Nor really care. At the base of the issue, there is an attitudinal dislike for farangs. Combine that with a opportunism to take when they can, you get the lawlessness.

You are wrong,Thais along with every other normal peoples of this earth dislike drunks that can't handle their alcohol and no respect for the people around them and the country they are in.I have been on many a footy trip and as i got older, wised up.Tossed out of Wrest Point Casino twice in 1 night. Was on a winning streak at 2 up.

HAHA>>>>> where going to pop into the WHITE ROOM on a off training camp relax :)

One of the boys just came off a big win and they are in Phuket.. The handsome Thai with the ladyboy haircut caught his eye

He laso likes to stand on VIP steps drinking his imported water

Weak cowards lets play with real men

I myself have over 6 years of UFC and MMA training. I am more than confident I could take these guys out if no weapons were used but, as I am disciplined I would restrain myself because of the physical damage I could cause to them. I only fight in the ring.

Out of curiosity, what would happen if a falang ended up knocking these bouncers or any other attackers out ?

Would he be prosecuted for defending himself in an unprovoked attack ?

Have any incidents like this ever happened in Thailand before ?

It's always the case afterwards that they were the victims... why don't you tell us the chain of events prior to the bashing so all of us here will have an idea why u got your head kicked in.

Karlos the name answers all my questions lol.... Why dont you be a man and respect others or better still go back to where you came from

There is NEVER a reason to kick a person in the head when they are down on the ground

American cops are charged with assult for way less than that.

It's a very up-market place and removing clothing is not allowed. Apparently they had been harassing most of the girls/staff during the evening and had been asked to behave. I'm sure they didn't take kindly to being asked to leave and it escalated due to too much alcohol.

what difference does it make? nothing can justify attempted murder. they were kicking the guys heads in. and nothing in the video can justify what the bouncers were doing. the guys were down. kicking someone in the head like a football means you want to kill them.

throw the bouncers and security guards in the video into Thai prison, two to five years. Next case.

As you say put them in prison for what they did on video , a lesson for the future .

★★★★★¯`'•.¸(¯`'•. ¸*★ Welcome to the Darker Side of Thailand!!! ★*¸. •'´¯)¸.•' ´¯)¸.•'`¯★★★★★

This is an inheritance from the days of Patpong!!!.... Tourists or anyone looking foreign would be hustled in to a bar saying "Live Sex Shows!!!" And anyone who was/is naive to go into the club would be a mark!!! When the marks were finished and getting ready to pay a humongous bill would be presented!!!

And if you didn't pay, they would close the doors and hassle you till you paid but if you STILL didn't pay then that was what happened to you "GET BEATEN UP!"... This is now more refined than from the days of the 80's when Bangkok was known as "The Prostitution Capital Of The World!!!"

It's not an upmarket place is it though. I actually know people that do go there when they are in Phuket.

It's cheap and its nasty where anything can be bought. Bouncers have a chip on their shoulder and can turn on anyone in a minute as they have full backing of the police at very turn. As tourists these poor lads should have had some rights in this assault. They will not. The embassy will not help them other then they may receive an official letter. I would like the opportunity to compare their official letters with jacks.

What makes you think they were asked to leave?

They didnt escalate anything. You can see they never threw a punch. They were out of the club and thats where the responsibility of the bouncers end. But no, the bouncers escalated it by beating and kicking them.

True cowards.

The chain of events are there. I am tired of people defending actions of thugs like this. it doesn't matter what they did, I am pretty certain though that a group of Aussie lads watching the Rugby would have had a few beers and been making some noise, I was in a bar with 2 Aussies and thats exactly what they were doing, what wrong with that?

Anyway, its the Bouncers job to ensure everyones safety in the club / bar of an evening. So, if someones violent they throw them out, if it escalates they restrain and call police,, simple.

No where is it ok for Bouncers to knock someone unconscious in the club and then chase his mates out into the street and kick him repeatedly in the head,,,

If I was the Aussie guys I would pushing them all for monetary compensation (its the Thai way after all) and / or for arrest and custodial.

Thailand cannot have this continued press coverage so I am sure their case would be taken seriously... Justice is required here for the good of Thailand..

I think the problem with tourists pressing charges is that they usually have return air tickets and leave the country before proceedings get started then they will need to return for court dates, and as arron said, none of them were seriously hurt, I can only say that if i was in the victims position I would forget about it too, just too expensive to take time off work and buy return air tickets every time im needed to appear in court, I dont know if the police can charge the offenders on video evidence alone, but i imagine it would be more difficult without the victim asking them to and having a wittnes for the prosecution

...I doubt that this reaches any Thai media...

...if it does...hold on to your hats for 'What happened, why and how...'...

...invite us here...but hate us....take all our money...and kill us at the slightest excuse....

And like lemmings,or sheep in this most recent case, they still come.

How come these things never happens to me and my friends ? And we live in Thailand. If your looking for trouble you will find it .

Love to see these bouncers try that with a few fist-handy sober lads from up north in the UK. All I see here is pure hatred being unleashed. The guy is down and out on the floor and three of them go back to kick him in again. I guess seeing foreigners splashing money on drinks night after night and Thai floozies all over them enjoying the spoils builds up resentment.

Because you probably dont take your shirt off in a nightclub..

Because your probably suitably attired...

Because you probably are not stumbling around drunk..

Because you probably have enough Thai awareness to monitor the vibe..

Because if vibe is going sour you probably know to stop acting up or to defuse the situation..

Because of many many reason why it doesnt happen to us.

But the fact is, this is the customer base that (and many) patong clubs are trying to attract.. Offering free flow drink deals, to make tourists with no cultural sensibility or awareness get wildly drunk. When you create that environment specifically to get those customers, you do bear some responsibility in providing those customers a safe location to behave how they (may have been) behaving. You dont get it both ways.

If a bunch of drunk bogans acted up in a rural countryside bar and got a hiding.. They clearly should have been more cautious in where they let their guard down. But when a bar caters to and actively tries to entice boguns, with free flow drinks for fresh off the plane tourists and all that comes with it.. they have to cater to the customers they worked for.

In Thailand (and some other parts of the world), just a perceived stare will bring out the aggressive instincts in the locals - no punch required.

And from the article "The nightclub's management has sacked the five bouncers involved and condemned their actions". This is good PR damage control from the management. However, I hope that next week they won't be back at work at the same place.

Not enough rings for Kick boxers so they need employment somewhere, many of them are nutters as well.

Agreed.....while Beating, Kicking and doing bodily harm ( as in, brutal assault ) is not included in the job description and responsibilities of a bouncer at any bar or drinking establishment.

Their job is to control the crowds in an orderly fashion while their presence in the drinking establishment is more or less recognized and understood to be a sort of "on premise private police force" that can dictate and enforce the rules of the house and or restrain any patron, if necessary, and or have you arrested by the local police when called in to do so for disorderly conduct or violations of the in house rules, while any and all patrons are on the property or inside the premise at any time.

Regardless of what the victims did or said, short of hitting any bouncer first or aggressively and physically contacting the bouncer in any way .....the beating is totally unwarranted and the Aussies should sue the bar and the bouncers.......but I already know that would be a waste of time and probably escalate the animosity and hostilities....but just saying.

**** That is ......under the assumption that the victims really did nothing at all deserving of a brutal beating.

Other than that, this is just one more example of people drinking and or drinking establishments run amuck.

Cheers

I just would like to add my 5 cents.

I am an Australian and I know too well how idiotic we can get over seas. Due to the binge drinking culture that we have created, we can barely manage our own affairs on our own streets. Australians have a terrible reputation of misbehaving whilst overseas. We tend to think we are above the law because we are foreigners and because we are from 'Straya'.

We are quick to blame the bouncers but something would've triggered them to react in such a way. Put yourself in their shoes. If you had to deal with drunken yobbos every single night, being abused and dealing with heroes every single night, you can't expect them to be shining beacons of peace.

Sad incident but the fact that the Aussies were so quick to depart the island speaks volumes.

I too am Australian and agree with the first part of your post.

However, if a bouncer doesnt have the mental faculties to do his job without the need to go outside his workplace to beat and kick a patron, a patron the bouncer is employed to protect, then he should find other employment.

It does not matter what, if anything, the aussies did. They were removed from the club and that should be the end of it. That is when the bouncers should have returned inside.

What are you implying when you say they were quick to depart the island? They could have departed as per their scheduled flight. No quick leaving at all.

Yes there is merit in this.

Aussies are binge drinkers, Indians rape women, American Black men are violent and aggressive towards Police, Muslims are terrorists..... there are many more but I fear these stereotypes are quite boring. An act of attack is an act of attack. To dissect the nationalities and any stereotypes from back home is simply not useful. A mentality of ranking people means that I could potentially start wearing the star of David sometime soon. Best avoided. smile.png

My sons attackers were American. One was shirtless all night through 6 hours of footage. One had on a tattered singlet top. My son had on a button up shirt to the neck. He is Australian though and was selected as the worst personality type amongst the three due to this racial profiling. This is not the entire case in a nutshell but it helped people of rank avoid certain truths presented to them whilst they were being paid off. It all boiled down to this single point.

This is not an argument this is a DIVERSION from a fair and just discussion and examination. These are all DIVERSIONS from the truth.

Once this happens to you and you experience it you cannot imagine what this is like.

I'm sock of hearing about these murders. Robberies. Drowning's. Every single <deleted> day dy cowards who stack visitors to their country. Even most I have spoke with do not like this crime tarnishing the name of their country. Far past time to Boycott world wide the travel destination of Pukett. But by the looks of their decreasing visitor numbers they will ban themselves also In the day if the information age this can literally happen overnight.

The hooligan took off his shirt!

As you know... It's hard enough to find a level headed, mild-mannered, non-aggressive bouncer in Australia. I'm not being dismissive to the bouncers, but their are two sides to every story.

Yes perhaps I was quick to jump to conclusions. Unfortunate incident, so lets leave it at that.

I'm sorry to hear about your son.

But lets face the facts - Party destination + free flowing alcohol + over inflated testosterone levels = problems.

Lets get off our high horses here. I'm sure many of the members here have been young and stupid before.

Bad name for Phuket. Bad name for Australians but this won't be the last incident of this nature.

I don't know if you've ever had a confrotation with a loud obnoxious (or 5-6 of them) but sometimes it's hard to keep awareness of your own self when it gets too much.. This is a developing country where bouncers(not bouncer, its actually security) are not trained. We chose to live here because its not a nanny-state so we have to expect untrained security.

These guys are not trained to handle stress, they are not trained at all, they are simply there to protect the business.

They most likely didnt even mean to kick the guy in the head when he was down, but imagine you have kids and some hits them with the car going 5km/h because hes angry that your kid crossed the middle line of the lane. What do you do? Do you go full on nuts and break his limbs apart while hes down or knock him out and hold him untill police comes? You do the first one even if you don't want to.

These young kids protecting the business are dealing with hundreds of complete morons everyday, these 5 made them go overboard and they lost control. Shit happens. I dont condone it but i dont make a big deal of it because im not retarded enough even on 10 beers + yaba + coke+ whatever else you can throw at me to ever be a big enough to ever make people lose control and if you are able to make people that angry you should learn to deal with the consequences on your own or move back to nanny-states where you'll be protected even though you don't deserve to be part of society.
