Hi everybody,

I would like to know what the Thai law says about "multiple insurance" (for Thai residents).

For example:

The post services are offering a "life insurance" for 250 Baht/year.

That sum ensures a payment of 200,000 Baht in case of "loss of life", 500,000 Baht on murder or assault and 100,000 Baht by a motorcycle accident (death).

Similar Insurances are offered at the Banks and many times by Insurance Companies who sell at the door.

I would like to know what the Thai law says about subscribing for a life insurance with 2 or more companies and if the refund in case of death or injury can be cumulated.

For example, suppose that my wife (a Thai national) is subscribed to 2 or more life insurances.

In case of death, will they pay 2 or more times the sum mentioned in the policy?

I know that in my country (Belgium) the law allows to be insured with multiple companies, but only one company will refund in case of an accident.

Regards,
