Does anyone have experience of changing from an O marriage visa to a visa for looking after dependent children ?

Is a divorce necessary first ?

Is there a 400k bht requirement ?

You cannot change the reason for a visa once it is issued by an embassy or consulate. It would also remain valid if based upon marriage if you got divorced.

If you are asking about changing the reason for an extension of stay it is possible to change at the end of your current extension. But most immigration offices will not allow an extension based upon being the parent of a Thai if you are still married. Both extensions require 400k baht in the bank.

my extension is up in March next year......do i have to show 400k to extend the marriage visa also ?

what about Savannakhet..is that still easy ?

To apply for an extension based upon marriage you will need to show 400k int the bank for 2 months.

You can still get a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage in Savannakhet with no financial proof being required.

If you can prove 40k baht income or more you can apply for the extension.

They seem to have changed their odd rules in Nong Khai to where they will accept an income letter if you can show a bank book showing the money coming in.every month.

Hello! I applied for a change of visa today from a tourist visa to a non immigrant "o" visa for the purpose of retirement. Why does it take 21 days to get approved and return for the stamp?
