No U Turn Signs (Thappraya Rd)

Featured Replies

I've noticed recently that new signs have been placed at every U turn junction along Thappraya Rd

and continuing on to Jomtien Sai 2.

So if anyone needs to turn in the opposite direction it makes it near as impossible without having to

ignore these signs.

Anyone can shed any light on why these signs have been placed ?

What are we supposed to do if one needs to turn in the opposite direction? travel all the way to the

new roundabout? blink.png

Not sure if there may be right turn roads available but this is normal here in Bangkok (for busy side streets) - you have to travel up the side street to make the turn around. Or risk police pullover after making the illegal U turn.

Just make a u turn like everyone else. just make sure police are not nearby.

The road system over here doesn't work if you apply logic.

Good luck.

Why don't they just block the u-turns off.

If you mean the red ones that have recently appeared, a friend told me they're for some up coming sports event (think he said it was a triathlon).

Yes, it's for the Triathlon that starts at 6am (without me!) this Saturday. Presumably the signs will be removed when it is over.

If it rains a bit between now and then they may be able to do the cycling and swimming at the same time.

That makes sense.

Thanks for the heads up.
