Thai Visa (TouristVisa) for Romanians Guys (other options?) (extend visa for 21 days to stay)

Greetings everyone,
I`m from Romania
I`ve saw on the Bucharest Thai Embassy official website: http://www.thaiembassy.org/bucharest/en/services/2723/26857-Tourist-Visa.html
What documents I need to apply to a tourist visa for Thailand
I would like some advice, if possible in the following situation: for more than a year now, I, my girlfriend and some friends(4 more of us) were planning to visit Thailand for a period of 21 days (we booked the plane tickets (paid in full), the accommodation and made the entire itinerary). Unfortunately, the Visa on arrival for Romanians must not exceed 15 days and thus, in order to get an extended period, we should visit the Embassy of Thailand in Bucharest, Romania.
When I was at the Thai embassy of Bucharest, (the other 4 of my friends got their documment passed/processed, they still waiting 5 days to know the results, but me and my girlfriend did not accepted our documments) That was a very bad mistake, because both me and my girlfriend were rejected on the spot by the “charming “(Romanian) lady that is supposed to represent Thailand in our country. The reason in my case was the lack of an employment certificate (which should be optional if one brings a bank statement, according to the official site of Thai Embassy in Bucharest), I`ve only supplied an bank statement with more than 550Euros, because my employment certificate is only by half minimum wage (I`ve quit my full time job to start my own business and my parents helps me with finances when needed). My girlfriend’s case was worse, she brought both the work certificate and the bank statement showing a sum equivalent to 600 euros in our national currency (Romanian RON). She was yelled at and embarrassed in front of all the people there present, the consulate lady told her that her salary is not sufficient to live in Romania (but she lives ok) not to mention to travel in Thailand. (I must add that as we planned this trip well in advanced we tried to put aside a relevant sum of money that should suffice and even surpass a bit the minimum expenses of our whole stay including booking/airplaine tickets + other expenses). On the official site (here’s the link http://www.thaiembassy.org/bucharest/en/services/2723/26857-Tourist-Visa.html ) it is not mentioned about a minimum wage or/and thousands of dollars into a personal account according to what the lady there in Bucharest told us (she told us that if we can not show her a good employment certificate in the other hand to show her a bank statement with thousands of dollars :( then we can not get the visa from her). She also added that we will never obtain the Visa from her, unless we show her a personal or a family account worth of thousands of dollars. And now we would like to know how can we extend our stay (legally) from 15 to 21 days in Thailand ?
I`ve tried to contact via phone the Hungarian Thai Embassy, and when they heard that I`m from Romania, they said I should visit our Embassy from Bucharest :( which is not a good option (I`ve read a lot of Romanian forums that the Laidy from the Bucharest embassy is a pain... :( )
Do you know how can me and my girlfriend should do in order to get a tourist visa for all the 21 days itinerary (I should mention that the departure is on 21NOV2015 and the arrival is in 12DEC2015) We do not want to change the arrival ticket because we have the itinerarry with all of my friends setup and we want to have a good experience
I will mention that I were back in 2011 in USA and I`ve got the visa for that (it was hard, and the Thai visa suppose to be easier..). I also want to mention that we (all 6 of us) DO NOT want to move or work to Thailand. We only want to visit!
If someone can help us we will be verry apreciative
Thank you in advance!

I think your best approach is to travel to Thailand with the visa on arrival. If you only need 21 or 22 day days you can extend the for 7 more at any immigration office for Bt 1,900, and if you need more you can travel to e.g. Laos a re-enter again via land or air, to obtain another visa on arrival.

Since you may have a problem boarding the airplane without a return ticket before 15 days, to satisky the airline you can use one of the approach mentioned in the following: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/754481-boarding-to-thailand-without-return-ticket/

Beside that if you have time I would suggest that write a letter to the Thai consul in Romania, mentioning all the money that you have spent in Thailand and rude treatment received by their employee.

You have my sympathy. It seems you were treated very unfairly.

My understanding is that a 15-day visa on arrival could be extended for a further 7 days at Bangkok immigration. However, if the return ticket is dated later than 15 days after the arrival date, you will probably run into two problems. Firstly, the airline may well refuse to check you in. Secondly, the airport immigration may refuse you the visa unless the ticket out is within 15 days. I am assuming your existing ticket would not allow you to change the return date twice without costing a fair bit. An alternative might be to buy a cheap one-way ticket somewhere.

I hope someone else has a good idea. It looks difficult.

Thank you very much guys for your responses

@paz

I only want to stay 21 days in Thailand, and I do not mind to pay 1900BHT for more 7 days (if it works)

I`m planning to stay near Krabi

"if you need more you can travel to e.g. Laos a re-enter again via land or air, to obtain another visa on arrival."

I`ve heard that in the past this method it worked, but acording to other this may not work nowadays ? (due to Visa on arrival ,,.?)

"Beside that if you have time I would suggest that write a letter to the Thai consul in Romania, mentioning all the money that you have spent in Thailand and rude treatment received by their employee."

If I send a letter to the Romania Thai consul, I`m affraid that she will read it (and it will be in vain)

I was thinking to send an email to the official Bangkok about this Lady issue from Romania (a lot of Romanian guys are complaining about this on Romanian forums), but I`m affraid maybe I will not get any other visas in the future (and maybe for other countries as well) .. :S

Anyway, I`ve read that forum (http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/754481-boarding-to-thailand-without-return-ticket) and I do have some questions

We will travel by AEROFLOT company (I do not know yet for sure if they will check my return-ticket and if they will not allow us our boarding into the airplane)

I`ve read on that forum that the return ticket is only checked by airline and not by Thai immigrant, is this right? Or it can be checked by airplain and Thai immigrant as well?

@BritTim Thank you

Yes, The airplain e-ticket has the departure and arrival dates on the same form

I`m not sure I can change the dates two times, I`ve asked the airplain company and they said I can not get a refundable ticket and if I want to change the date it will cost a tax fee (which is half the price of one way ticket :()

"An alternative might be to buy a cheap one-way ticket somewhere"

I can do that (I`ve read on that forum (http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/754481-boarding-to-thailand-without-return-ticket/) that I can buy a refundable ticket as well)

Should I get a one-way ticket to Kuala Lumpur? Or should I get round-ticket

From Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur and

From Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok

?

Can I use Krabi to Kuala Lumpur?

Is there any other (Out Thailand) destination that I can try ? Cheaper ones?

If I use a one-way/round-trip train ticket, will the airline/thai consul will accept? (will there be any issues involved)?

By the way, can this 7 days visa be extended from Krabi as well ? Or only at Bangkok immigration? (We will be staying near Krabi and would be awsome if it can be extended from Krabi, but if there are no chances in Krabi, there is no problem) :)

When we should go for extending the 15 days visa? Can we go at the beginning (when we arrived in Thailand after we got the VisaOnArrival)? Or this extending will be available after the 15 days visa will expire and then we should apply? I can also go the next day after we got the 15 days VisaOnArrival if is possible,

Another doubt is, when we will go to extend the 15 days visa with 7 days more, will that Thai consul will request airplaine tickets ? Booking Reservation Tickets? Or he will request only the Passport (with the 15days visa on it) + 1900Baht?

Is there any chances that 7 day extension would be rejected ?

This 7 days visa extension will be given in the current day? or are there big delays(like 5 working days delay in our country)

Looking forward for your replies

AirAsia one way to Kuala Lumpur from Krabi is 1290 baht.

There is a Thai Immigration office in Krabi - I suggest you contact them directly re. what extension is available (there are often "local" procedures, you can't assume anything from national "rules").

You should be able to get the 7-day extension from any immigration office, including Krabi. Technically, it is not a regular extension but "7 days to leave the country". It is given the same day you apply, typicaly within an hour at quieter immigration offices. I have never heard of this being refused anywhere, but an email to Krabi immigration asking their advice might be prudent.

With cash in hand and a one-way ticket out of the country within 15 days, the visa on arrival will be no problem, and you will be allowed to check in for your flight to Bangkok.

Be aware that refundable tickets sometimes take a long time to be refunded.

Thank you for your responses

Is there a chance that they(Airplane/Thai Consul) might ask for round-way ticket ? (Krabi-KualaLumpur and KualaLumpur-Krabi)?
