CFCjeff
Hello, i returned to Thailand on 8th Oct after a short holiday in England, and at immigation received my last 90 days on my multi non O immigrant visa [based on marriage ] which has now expired on Oct 21st. The plan was then that i would go to Savannakhet in January and get a new multi o visa, i go there as no proof of funds required and not a long trip either. However ive just heard that my Mum has passed away so i want to go back to England. Now im not in the mood to go savannakhet now and get the visa before travelling back home, so im thinking that i could get a tourist visa from Thai embassy in London and before 60 days are up then go to laos for non immigrant o visa, Not having funds i cant apply for a non o visa in london. Im pretty sure i have to do this as the airline might not let me board without a visa when i return home to Thailand, or i could have a problem at immigration.in that i wont have an outward bound ticket. I will check with airline on my return to Heathrow, but if tourist visa is the way to go it seems the easiest solution. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you. stoneyboy
You can get a single re entry permit keeping your current permission to stay active. Sorry to hear of the passing of your mum. Sincere condolences. Edited October 25, 2015 by stoneyboy
oncearugge
A multi-entry NON "O" visa based on marriage is obtainable from the Thai Embassy in London with the same paperwork that is required by Savannakhet.
elviajero
I assume you were given a 90 day stay that expires around Jan 5th. If you are planning to return before that date you could buy a re-entry permit on the way out for 1,000 baht. When you come back the IO will use the re-entry permit and give you a stay until Jan 5th. I believe that London do not need any financial proof for a non 'O' based on marriage. Ignore what the Embassy website says.
Upnotover
You don't need funds to get a 12 month non-O (marriage) in the UK. I got one in June from the Cardiff consulate. Appointment required and application in advance by email for embssy approval.

I've never used it, but I believe it's just before passport control. You can also get a permit in advance from an immigration office.
CFCjeff
So one final question regarding re entry permit.... it wont matter that my visa has expired ?, it is the exit stamp of 5th jan that i will be able to use when i arrive back in thailand. No it won't matter. You have been given a stay until Jan 5th. The re-entry permit keeps that stay alive.
stoneyboy
Don't forget the following is needed also to obtain the re entry permit. applying for a re-entry permit you will need to submit the following – * A completed TM-8 form * The correct fee * A 2″ photo * Photocopy of passport (main page, visa page and latest entry stamp)
elviajero
Just FYI...... As you are married any stay can be extended once by 60 days (no financial proof required). So if you do return using a re-entry permit, and you want to delay going to Savannakhet for a new non 'O', you could go to immigration shortly before Jan 5th and get an extra 60 days for (1,900 baht).
