I have an as yet unused, double entry visa, issued Sep 15, enter before 14 Dec. I plan to make my first entry some time in November.

What if any restrictions exist on the date of my second entry, or does the date of my second entry also have to be before 14 Dec?

You must use ALL entries by the 'enter before' date.

So yes, second entry needs to be made before (or on) Dec 14th.

You do not need to be OUT by that date though. (That is determined by the must-leave-by date the IO stamps in your pp, which should of course be 60d from the date of your 2nd entry, plus any 30d extension if you choose to get one.)

Uh? Sorry but I think that for Immigration "before" means... "before".

If the OP tries to make his second entry "on" Dec 14th, I think he will be refused, because too late...

Wrong !

The visa is valid for entry until midnight of Dec 14

Technically correct, but there are multiple reports that entering ON the 'enter before' date is acceptable.

Hum... Maybe... But I would not risk that.

BTW why do they have two types of stamps, "Enter Before ddd" and "Valid Until ddd",

if they both mean "valid until" ??

PS: Words from an expert:

All entries must be done before the enter before date on the visa.

What I normally write is on or before the enter before date.

I have only seen enter before on visas since most places started using stickers instead of stamps.
