Gen. Chavalit said he would like all sides to be happy and confident in the new Prime Minister because he has a clear work record and is praiseworthy. Referring to Gen. Surayud’s administrative policies, Gen. Chavalit said that the policies show that the new Prime Minister is determined and has a clear work direction. The ex-premier is convinced that all Thai people are behind Gen. Surayud.

Gen. Chavalit is also confident that the new Prime Minister will be able to solve the southern unrest because he has experiences in the area of national security, and he has spend a considerable time in dealing with the problems in the deep South.
