No, I'm not retired. I know this place often seems like a nursing home but some of us still have a little life left in us.

Do the laundry at midnight. Unlikely a Thai will be there because they are scared of ghosts. Dress in a white sheet to reinforce the impression.

Had this canadian guy who opened a laundry...and...sold beer.

Called it Suds and Duds

Really...

Anyways...I think most of us have it done for us. That wet load in the bin is not going to ruin my day.

So, I bought the ole lady a new rock for her birthday for washing clothes, the smile she gave me was priceless.

I don't even know how to wash clothes, that's the ole lady's job. We go on a holiday we send clothes out for washing.

Now bikey, that was a rather rude comment to make considering you don't have a clue to my drinking habits. Now run along and get the clothes washed before the wifey gets home.

The 1950s just called. They want their attitude to gender roles back.

I suppose if I didn't make enough money to afford to have wife stay at home and take care of the kids, things might be different.

That sounds like the wishful thinking of hen-pecked bloke trying to act macho.

I was thinking more 'over-grown mummy's boy who never learnt to take care of himself'.

Single person, send the laundry out--they pick-up and deliver washed, dried, ironed, and folded. With a partner, let the partner do it.

Re-post this on one of the many "how to live in Thailand on less than 1,00 baht a month" threads.

Someone will come around and steal the clothes.

Problem solved.

Mind you they may steal the washing machine as well.

I did my job when I bought the new rock, now she does her part. Only fair don't you think.

It is normal the world over. Your removing the clothing was perfectly okay.

It isn't so easy to be a person. Here, there, everywhere.

Enjoy.

If you find 2 machines stopped and sitting, you should swap items in them.

Removing one odd sock, and returning it a few weeks later is also fun.

I have a number of machines and this is very normal. Sorry do not have a answer for you except what Thais themselves say " loom" forgetful.

I just gave away two bags of clothes for charity which someone left while cleaning never came back. Two years!

OK so I'm still quite new here. I have recently moved into an apartment which has predominantly Thai residents (only one or two farangs) and they only have two public use washing machines onsite. There's been a few times when there has been one machine available and the other has finished its cycle, but the wet clothes are still in there. So, I put my clothes on a one hour cycle, come back an hour later to collect my clean clothes and the same wet laundry remains in the other machine. Not a problem for me because I was able to do my laundry, but there could have been some other person wanting to their laundry within that hour. Today both machines had finished their cycle and the wet laundry remained in them. So, I went to get some food and returned about 45 minutes later. I waited another 10-15 minutes then thought "sod it" and took the clothes out of one machine and put my clothes on a cycle.

So, is this normal for people to leave their wet clothes in machines for long periods of time with no regards for other people? And was it OK for me to take out the other person's clothes so that I could do my own laundry?

Not the most exciting topic, but I'm just curious.

You really do have a busy life

NOT !!

Who cares mate ?? Make an executive decision and remove the clothes and move on

I cannot believe some of the lame subjects people want to share with others !!!

Why would you even bother doing your own laundry when it's so simple to drop off and come back nexy day with laundry all nicely folded.

When I used laundries I someimes had items go missing.

Plus, in a laundry your clothes are often put in with other people's, although you can pay extra to have them washed seperately.
