Amulet maker Sia Oud kills himself

Featured Replies

DeepInTheForest post # 7.

Posters in TV can sure be vicious.

Known as ''Black humour.

It releases tension and eases the pain and strain.

Ever laughes at others misfortune, ever watch those YouTube funny accident clips?

We're all sadists at heart to a greater or lesser degree.

Some of us - the enlightened ones - can even laugh at our own misfortunes.

many of us feel, after helping people then let down by those same people, pretty depressed about it and sounds like this guy was just sad and wanted to block out that sadness

show some compassion TVF

The problem is the method used to help these people, a magical amulet. Thus, these people did not change from the inside, and still lacking in virtue and truth.

Apparently you are unfamiliar with how many sick people are cured by placebo drugs.

There is quite alot of healing power in the perceptions of the mind.

if someone receives comfort and a sense of well-being from an amulet, who are you or zi to say its BS?

Yes people find comfort in those things.

My opinion is that all magic, superstition, religious beliefs, lucky amulets, ghosts, spirits, mediums, tarot, reiki, healing crystals etc etc are a load of rubbish.

They are just things that the less well educated cling to to explain things they are afraid of (death and being alone mostly).

You can believe what you want and voice your opinion, but I have the right to ridicule all of the above and those people that believe in them.

But be careful, someone might give you the evil eye ?

Freud said that superstition represents the expectation of trouble. Believing the amulets will prevent and protect from trouble is like inviting it in.

I could have saved him from that cancer. Hop on one foot around the coconut tree 3 times.

If the poor guy had cancer, he is probably in a better place now.

I agree 100% with this post, except for the "poor" and the "better place" comments.

As long as people keep believing the nonsense that they will go to a "better place", there is no incentive to make this world a better place.

Collecting amulets is an interesting hobby. Sometimes your hobby becomes an obsession. Just think, poor chap makes amulets to bring good fortune then is diagnosed with cancer. Lost his faith? Maybe.
