PM: Social order meant to rid people of troubles

BANGKOK, 31 October 2015 (NNT) - Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha said social order currently maintained in Bangkok, the provinces and tourist spots is meant to rid the Thais and foreigners of troubles and bring about happiness.

However, the prime minister said he has been concerned about the cleanliness of rivers and canals and instructed the authorities to find sustainable solutions to such problems.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has taken steps to solve land encroachment problems and to improve the quality of life of people who may have poached upon public property.

rubbish as usual ....people want their freedom, Liberys and HUMAN RIGHTS not a Military dictatorship that will kill anyone , if I wanted that I would be in PDRK

The Only reason they have lasted so long is because so many thais are locked to their smartphones brain-nummed up on MSG and basically cant be bothered...then something will happen (can be anytime from today but almost guarenteed within the next 5 years) and then all hell is going to break loose

And someone may find themself hung from a tree in the centre of the capital just as has occurred to most similar thinking self appointed persons throughout history

There used to be bins on the downtown streets. However, unknown bad guys placed bombs in some of them, so a former government had them removed for security reasons.

Some clear plastic bins did reappear, but certainly not enough.

As an interesting aside, when the bins were removed, it caused an outcry from scavengers who made a living collecting things from the bins to recycle. Probably why the clear plastic bins appeared.

we need more bins. how many bins can you count around you.... probably none.

there used to be a bin outside my local 7/11 but I guess they got tired of having to empty it and just got rid of it....

Every 7/11 and food vender should be fined if they have not a bin

I've often struggle to find a bin after drinking or eating something although there is usually a pile of garbage at most telegraph poles which is where people end up dropping stuff... Which then attract cockroaches, rats and dogs...

The CURRENT Social order keeps the elites in power and the rest in poverty.

Just like the current economic system.

As long as people don't start to think for themselves and free themselves

from these insane "orders", nothing will change !!!

Current social order: elite vs. workers, a variation of nobles vs. serfs

An age-old solution to holding back the masses.

Look back through the ages to see what happens if the nobles hold back the serfs for too long. France in 1789 and Russia in 1917 rather come to mind.

In both cases the ruling classes completely misjudged the mood of the people. I'm sure that if opinion polls existed then the governments would have been commissioning surveys that confirmed that 94% supported them, and that the major foreign powers of the day understood their road map etc etc.

"rid the Thais and foreigners of troubles and bring about happiness. "

I guess he missed the Buddhist primary teaching that "all life if suffering"

the pm talks about social order its creation was intended to bring happiness to the people what this has created is the opposite ,do as you are told or you will be sent for attitude adjustment this is only part of the system to create social order,

The government need to open their eyes are Thai people at this junction in time happier, or are they unhappier deeper in debt with prospects drying up in some industries , i think the government needs action before financial hardships turn the population against the junta with Prayut at number 1.

Good point...keep them distracted with mindless things and they cannot focus on more important things...just where the gov't wants them

Say no more, everything becomes self explanatory . What people want and what will work are often 2 different things. Most people want what is easiest, but unless the plan is good, at some point it stops being what is easiest.

hey guys, ... is it just me or is the self-appointed "PM" spewing out significantly more inane pronouncements this week than is normal for him???

Its not you.

He seems on the verge of hysteria.

The question is...internal (mental) or external causes?

The actual translation is no doubt that he wants to get rid of people causing him troubles so he can tighten the screws back to Sakdina.

Some members of "the elite" have no problem ridding themselves of troubles. For example, a convicted murderer in Hat Yai faked her own death after being convicted of arranging the contract murder of her son's fiancée .

. The woman , aged 73, was said to be fearful that the murdered woman, a qualified pharmacist but from a poor family, might take wealth from her policeman son at some point in the future, so had her killed in anticipation.

The murderer, out on bail, returned to Hat Yai after attending one of Suthep's PDRC rallies and was said to have died 3 days later.

The death certificate was signed by the headman, not a doctor.

It was only after suspicions by the family of the murdered woman and sightings of the (deceased) murderer on shopping trips , that police investigated and the court ruled that she faked her death.

The police say they are trying to arrest her but that it's difficult because she has powerful connections. The story is in The Nation.

Hat Yai? Didn't that province vote for former General now turned proper, respectable politician like all politicians Sonthi who joined the Pheu Thai led coalition government and voted for his own amnesty (again)?

As so many Thai are daydreaming, nobody is gonna wake up the PM.

Unfortunately, many farang are daydreaming also. The only real actions happening in Thailand by the current administration is, much talking - very little action and very little following of (lip service?) "directions" regarding law and order changes for the better. If there is no will there is no way, for any meaningful change. The old brigade will not let go of power and will use any excuse to retain power and the trappings of wealth that goes with it. And to hell with the poor and poorly educated who have been led to believe that Governments are working for them. Thai governments will not learn from other countries how to economically improve themselves for the benefit of all citizens, (Singapore as an Asian nation comes to mind) only how to improve the elitist classes. It seems that currently the only other country they are learning from is North Korea, a country that practices TOTAL subjugation of its citizens.

Nothing wrong with "social order" and I mean the respect of law and order NOT "social order" as applied to a class system and that is where the focus is at present and always has been. The poor are and will continue to pay for the excesses of the rich and powerful!

Many would like to believe that the PM wishes to improve his country (maybe he does) but many meaningless pronouncements, flimsy excuses and lack of action on corruption makes one wonder. Time will tell but at what cost to the nation? sad.png
