Airport shuttle mini bus - are there any better alternatives

In late January 2016 I'm flying alone into Krabi airport in the afternoon with only hand luggage and staying for 3 days , so I need to get from the airport to my hotel which is situated in the Ao Nang area which I think may be a 30 / 40 minute drive from the airport.

Ive seen on the Air Asia web site where I booked the hotel / flight , an extra pre bookable option to take a shared airport shuttle mini bus for 420 Baht one way trip or 775 Baht for a return trip , that goes to the Ao Nang area .

Just wondering what options are available at the airport to get me to my hotel and back , does the above shared airport shuttle mini bus prices sound about right , or are there any better alternatives ?

Thanks

You can just buy ticket at airport for shuttle bus, cost. 150 bht, airasia obviously add commission on and quite a bit by the looks of it.other option is private car cost 600 to 700 bht these are the only two options from krabi airport.

By the airport exit you will see a kiosk selling tickets on the white bus taninthai mentions above. 150 baht. Walk out the door, turn left, and walk 25 m to board the bus.

The one on the Air Asia site is a mini van and is not the same as the big white coach.

As suggested the big white bus is the cheapest option and it takes about 40 -60 minutes. It will drop you outside your hotel in Ao Nang. The other option is a taxi from the airport and that is about 600 baht.

Thanks for the advice guys thumbsup.gif

150 Baht sounds more like it

On my return journey I need to be at the airport at around 6am , any ideas for the best option to get from my hotel back to the airport at that time.

Big white bus is the best. Cheap and easy. The return at 6 am is too early though for the bus. Ao Nang is loaded with mini van or taxi options. 6 am might be a bit of a challenge for a shared mini van, so you may have to do a taxi, but you never know.

I wouldn't say the big white bus is the best,it's certainly the cheapest and cheapest isn't always the best, the bus stops at a lot of places and can take a bit of time.

Most of the time I have friends pick me up ,couple of times I have just bit the bullet and paid for taxi and moan to the driver how expensive it is and they definately do not get a tip.
