Dash Cams Re-Visited

Featured Replies

Yesterday, in sheer frustration, I threw my extremely unreliable, month old dash cam out the window. (Idiot because I threw out a new 32GB Class 10 SD card with it)

A - very dubious - GS8000L model by whom, I don't know, but believe it uses Nova firmware - I bought it online from TMart, Hong Kong at AUD $53.00.

I had complained to them right from unpacking that they did not send me a new device but something 2nd hand that had obviously been repaired and no packaging and missing hardware. We are still in dispute, that's my problem, on going.

I found this unit was very resource hungry using up to 600MB for a 3 minute *.avi file on an average resolution setting.

Can any of you guys suggest a VERY GOOD Dash Cam that sells for --- lets say around the 3000 Baht mark.

Thank you in advance

Transcend Drivepro 100. About the same PQ as the ~1500 Baht no name brands, but it has excellent build quality and name-brand support, plus comes with a 16GB Transcend micro SD card too.

If it's not going to move between vehicles, buy the version with the adhesive mount - I've never yet had a suction mount that stayed on long term.

Q...All of the Thai online sites list the Transcend Drivepro 100 at 3,235 to 3,500 bt.

How do you tell if its an original or a cheap knockoff or a knockoff of a knockoff ?

is there anyway to know what chipset it uses ?

That sounds about right.
