Try dive boats leave Phi-Phi islands after they were warned

National artist Suchart passes away at 77

BANGKOK: National artist Suchart Sapsin, the founder of a shadow puppet folk museum, died Saturday morning at age 77. Relatives said he died peacefully of old age, and his funeral rites would be held at Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Riot and fire reported at juvenile centre in Songkhla

SONGKHLA: A riot reportedly erupted at the Regional Juvenile Vocational Training Centre 9 in Songkhla province Saturday. An informed source said smoke billowed out of the centre at around 3pm, after which several juvenile inmates were seen running out of the facility.
