Turkey for Thanksgiving

I live way out of town and was wondering if anyone is seeing any decent sized turkey's showing up in any of the usual places for such fare. Makro gets the smallest birds possible (6kg or so) and I would like to get one 8-9 kg. I know it's several weeks away, but thought I would start beating the bushes a wee bit early. A bird flu outbreak this year in the US caused a massive cull and international import bans. USA TODAY reporting supermarkets are not getting orders completely filled and shoppers are advised to buy early. Large birds in short supply.

Are Turkeys only found in the US of A ?

No, but it is a major international exporter.

Thailand apparent kept their import restrictions in place longer than necessary as even extremely cautious Japan lifted the restrictions months ago.

Even the free-range bespoke Turkey farms that were not affected will be running short of supply as retailers struggle to fill orders.

This is making me hungry.
