Wilsonandson
We will know if they were serious when we read in the news about the influential mafia like people on kho tao being arrested. Until that happens then this story is propaganda only. What I can't understand is they are coordinating with the RTP? How can they go after themselves if they still have the power they abuse so well? Surat Thani is untouchable Why so negative? Even if it looks like that in the moment - things might change - hopefully The golden whistle will never be arrested. His clan is intouchable. Until that happens then this story is propaganda only. What I can't understand is they are coordinating with the RTP? How can they go after themselves if they still have the power they abuse so well? and they bring in a new DSI investigation team to properly investigate the horrific twin murders we are all familiar with and call the current proseecution case exactly what it very obviously is........ dominique355
Crack down on influential people? I did not know that it was a crime to be influental. I wonder what kind of weapons they use; check-books? Highly dangerous around here, indeed.
springheeled jack
I would imagine that within the next 6 months there will be a lot of people moving their money out of Thailand a sure sign of guilt .
Wilsonandson
Since the current government took the reigns of power the only people of influence have been students who from day 1 have shown they disapprove of the current status quo. Now, government officials have said that these students were influenced by politicians and certain political groups or supported by. This must be the people the crackdown is focusing on. As for mafia or family clans, as long as they stay on the right side of the government then they are not the target.

digibum
Does this idiot ever shut up , your so called crack downs really , why warn these people first make an announcement when you have them in the dock. Thailand: The hub of crackdowns. Coincidently, also the hub of announcing crackdowns well in advance of the crackdown allowing those being cracked-down upon to quit doing whatever it was that was going to be cracked-down on.
