Six Israelis injured in fresh wave of street attacks

JERUSALEM: -- Israeli authorities on Sunday (November 8) released a video showing a Palestinian woman stabbing a security guard at the entrance of a Jewish settlement in the West Bank.

The security guard then shot and wounded the woman, an Israeli military spokesperson said. The woman has died of her injuries, Spanish news agency EFE reported.

The street attack and several others injured six Israelis over the course of the day.

Near the Israeli settlement of Tapuach in the occupied West Bank, a Palestinian man rammed his car into a bus stop, injuring four people. He was shot dead by Israeli police.

In the village of Nabi Ilyas, two Palestinians stabbed a Jewish settler in the stomach and ran away. The settler managed to drive to an Israeli checkpoint where he was cared for, according to Israel’s defence ministry.

Since the beginning of October in Israel, almost daily street attacks have claimed the lives of 11 Israelis and at least 72 Palestinians.

Muslim anger has been stoked by increasing visits made by Jewish groups and right-wing Israelis to the al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem, on a site also revered by Jews as Temple Mount.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is due in Washington on Monday (November 9) to meet US President Barack Obama for the first time in more than a year. Netanyahu said the meeting would focus on regional issues — including the Syrian crisis — and on strengthening the security of Israel.

I agree with Yossi Dagan who suggested continued knife attacks are met with increased settlement building. BDS blowhards are not going to achieve a thing and Israel's Arab neighbors will side with Israel in alliance against Iran. It's game over for the Palestinians until they stop behaving like savages.

BDS blowhards are not going to achieve a thing and Israel's Arab neighbors will side with Israel in alliance against Iran. It's game over for the Palestinians until they stop behaving like savages.

If you treat someone like a savage all their life, how can you possibly complain when they act like a savage?

But assuming the knife attacks do stop, what about the settlements then? What will make the Israelis return these illegal land grabs? I think we all know the answer to that one - nothing can happen that will force the current Israeli government to give back the land it has stolen; nothing will not stop their relentless greed for even more of other peoples' land.

BDS may be little more than an irritation, but it is positive and constructive action at a grassroots level, providing education and information to an increasingly aware global population - better that than the world saying nothing at all.

Netanyahu's about to head to Washington for talks and a request to up military aid to US$5 billion per year. Apart from the Iran deal he needs other 'threats' to add to his 'presentation/CV' for more $$$ from Uncle Sam.

I can not understand why Obama would give the ugly Netanyahu one cent. Israel can well afford to BUY the weapons if the US uses the excuse that it needs its weapons industry ticking over. The USA would be far better using that $5 billion per year on its OWN citizens.

Who does Israel use these weapons on? Mainly on the hapless Palestinans-see the movie "The Lab" for proof.

BDS is gaining strength and support daily and I certainly make a point of avoiding anything made in or connected to Israel.
