German Ambassador visits Pattaya



PATTAYA: -- The German Ambassador was in Pattaya on Tuesday and met with the Deputy Mayor of Pattaya to discuss security for German citizens who live, work and holiday in Pattaya.

His Excellency Mr. Peter Prugel, who was accompanied by Mr. Rudolf Hofer, the German Honorary Consul in Pattaya, met with Khun Ronagit, and a delegation of City Hall Officials at conference room 132 at City Hall.

The Ambassador discussed the current situation in Pattaya as it relates to the state of Tourism in the City and also how City Hall works with the local Police to ensure that security measures for Germans in Pattaya are in place.

He was on TV yesterday visiting Nong Nooch, one of his biggest payers the city's major landscape contractor.

He's in the wrong bar town. Germans are traditionally based over in Hua Hin and Ch-am along with the Swiss and Austrians.

The ambassador was reassured by the dep mayor's instructions "not to worry", and "do not panic".

Did he rent a jet-ski???

Good to see a western government concerned about it's citizens in Pattaya or anywhere in Thailand.

The Canadian Government would never take any such action or interest in protecting its citizens.

Why mention which room? 132 sounds like some back of house broom cupboard.

Isn't this the same Deputy Mayor that has been holding "Emergency Meetings" since 2008 about the jet ski criminals that rent the beach from him?
