BMW G 310 R

BMW Motorrad has revealed the G 310 R motorcycle, the company’s first sub-500 cc roadster. The centrepiece of the new BMW G 310 R is a completely newly developed 313 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves and two overhead camshafts together with electronic fuel injection that develops 34 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm.

The new G 310 R has a torsionally stiff, highly robust tubular steel frame in grid structure with bolt-on rear frame, an upside down fork suspension at the front and aluminium swinging arm with a spring strut at the rear. The bike rides on 110/70 R17 section tyres at the front and 150/60 R17 section tyres at rear. Stopping power comes from single 300 mm and 240 mm disc brakes at the front and rear respectively. The G310 R comes with ABS as standard. The unladen weight of the G 310 R is 158.5 kg and the seat height is 785 millimetres.

Yep, the service. When I bought my second bigger bike there's a deep cut at a vacuum hose near the carbs. I replaced it, the bike ran well and I made the biggest mistake to let a local "big bike mechanic" tune the carbs. That finally destroyed the engine.

The 750 cc- V 2 engine was "redone" twice. Only 200 km's after the first time, the one camshaft came out and did some great damage.Seems that he forgot one 6 mm screw only....facepalm.gif

And when I changed the mechanic 70 km away, after the fix, I had only 50 % of my former compression. It was never as it was after I fixed the tube.

I love BMW's, but even this little one will be extremely expensive.
