Rosetta and Philae celebrate a year of success for ESA

PARIS: -- A year ago the European Space agency’s Rosetta mission made history, becoming the first man-made object to meet, orbit, and then land on a comet. When the tiny Philae lander touched down last November, you could almost hear the cheering from ESA’s Darmstadt mission control echo around the world. Not even mighty NASA had ever pulled something like this off.

Hospital raid video gives rare look at murky Israeli unit

Amid offensive, Iraqi Kurds cut Islamic State supply line

Big Cleaning Day held in Ayutthaya to maintain historical sites

AYUTTHAYA, 13 November 2015 (NNT) - Renovation and landscaping efforts are now underway in Ayutthaya province to improve areas around historical sites.


Ayutthaya Deputy Governor Kajornsak Charoensopa has visited Bung Praram Park to inspect the site after it was found to have been littered with garbage.

Bung Praram is a public park, where the remains of centuries-old temples are also located. According to the Deputy Governor, landscaping work will take place under a ‘Big Cleaning Day’ campaign held from November 24 – 25.

It is also aimed at restoring Ayutthaya as one of the world’s top cultural heritage destinations and bringing visitors back to the province.

US airstrike targets 'Jihadi John' from IS slaying videos

WASHINGTON (AP) — A U.S. drone strike targeted a vehicle in Syria believed to be transporting the masked Islamic State militant known as "Jihadi John" on Thursday, according to American officials. Whether the strike killed the British man who appears in several videos depicting the beheadings of Western hostages was not known, officials said.

Phuket teen dies in early morning motorbike crash

YANGON (Myanmar Now) - Official results announced on Friday at noon confirmed that Aung San Suu Kyi's party has gained a landslide election victory, granting the National League for Democracy a strong mandate to form a government and demand cooperation from the military’s fixed block of a quarter of parliament seats.

Phuket speedboat fire causes B1mn damage, leaves captain injured

PHUKET: -- A speedboat captain suffered injuries when the five million baht speedboat he was driving caught fire when returning guests to a beach in front of Chandara Resort and Spa in Pa Khlok yesterday (Nov 12). Police have said damage to the boat is estimated to be about one million baht.
