Favorite place in Pattaya?

Dunno….what a bingo player does is a bingo player's business but it gives me a giggle when a 70 year old pays 3 times the market rate and then brags about it like he's rudy valentino. gigglem.gif

The rates you mentioned earlier are spot on. They are not high or low, but right around average. Your 70 year old friend is not overpaying. Yes, he can bargain down at the local disco, but that is not everyone's cup of tea.

I like Kate Siree on Bukao for the same reason; the large Chang Exports are similarly priced.

Are you out of Thailand ? Chang Export is no more ,also no more classic or draught .Whats left is the new Chang in a green bottle which i like but some dont .The place i was talking about is Nickom Court .The name came back to me .

Yup, travelling in Indo at the moment. It was Chang draught I liked, with the tan label advertising the malty taste. It was always hard to find it out around town but a few places on or nr Bukhao served it.

Thanks for the info. Hope KS does large bottles of Tiger ?

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned gogo bars. Does no one enjoy hanging out in them?

I know a 70 year old viagra addled grandpa with bad knees....goes to gogos....hits on coyotes who charge him 1500 barfine and 3,000 short time.....then he boasts how young girls are attracted to him.

Theres only one person getting screwed in gogos .... the punter.

Why are you negative about 70 year old having some fun if he can afford it? Good on him! Just because you think it's too expensive doesn't mean it is for other punters. Those numbers are pretty standard for Walking Street - some are higher. Some will turn their noses up at that.

BTW, the girls are attracted to him. They are usually more attracted to cashed up punters than Cheap Charlies - it's a fact that many younger, more handsome guys don't grasp. Are you young and handsome perhaps?

Anyways, what would suggest a 70 year old should be doing? Sitting at home doing crosswords feeling sorry himself because his knees are bad, waiting to die? Are you against older men gaining a new lease on life through Viagra?

Many of the callow youth often mock the things they are to be. I am 70. I am as active today as I was 40 years ago, perhaps more so. I would more than be happy to have an arm wrestle with the 20 and 30 year olds. More importantly than just good youthful looks, I have years of wisdom, decades of success and pockets full of baht. The young cheap Charlies can't beat that. I offer far more to a woman than just marathon sex. I get into her mind as well. Something youth is incapable of.

As the old bull said to the young bull...let's walk down the hill and <deleted> them all.

Youth and skill will always be defeated by age and treachery.

you talk about getting into her mind..umm you realize they are hookers right...pockets full of bahts is all you need

TUCOM.

A sure favourite for me, as it would be for any IT-interested western. I go there at least weekly, or more.

Hanging around a bunch of Scammers, No Thanks...

What do you mean by that? Every major (Thailand franchise) computer and hardware store is represented in Tukcom and they don't scam. All prices are marked and the same as all the other stores in Thailand. Have you never ventured up to IT-City on the top floor. It's a very peaceful place to browse for the latest technology. I buy most of my computer stuff up there and customer service is very good.

Windmill is pretty special if you get there before 9. Afterwards a few too many punters for my taste. Hilton roof deck do buffet are both amazing. A real taste of civility in a rather crazy town. Many of my friends have favorite bars in soi 6, if that is your scene. Bring lots of cash. LOL.

From some of the negative comments, It seems that there is a close link with those who are negative about Pattaya and a luck of funds. I have always preached that if you do not have the funds to be here you should not be here as I believe that being in Pattaya is great but if you do not have the necessary funds it is actually worse to be here than to be anywhere else.

I enjoy Candy Shop - Walking Street especially on Saturdays nights after midnight. The food stalls in Soi Diana early in the morning, Various Bars around town and Central shopping Beach Road.

Favorite Pizza for the price is 2nd Road by New Plaza - opposite Soi 8

The chinese pavilion area just below the big buddha. Very peaceful. Big C, the older one near the old dolphin roundabout. I enjoy the tabletop barbecue place there, and on other days the pizza place facing second road. Personal pan pizza deluxe is a taste of home. Then go back in the mall and get the banana split from DQ. 79 baht is a fine price. The KISS restaurant. Simple, fast and well priced. Shrimp fried rice, watermelon shake is a fine simple lunch. The Domocile second road, Wiener schnitzel, fried potatoes, salad. Entertainment wise, The gogos change often, so hard to say. Used to really like the peppermint when it was larger. Super baby or its similar name across the aisle are nice low key. Years ago three or four girls about once every hour would go up and to an Issaan dance. Not a sexy thing, although they were topless. But just playing some Thai stuff different from disco thump thump was nice. Enjoy the rooftop pool at the flipper. The thai performers at the touristy Ruen Thai place on second road. Can't rave about the food, but seeing live Thai performers is nice. Sitting there in December or January when it is snowing and freezing cold back home is quite enjoyable. I wish Pattaya had more of that. Morning breakfast at Areca. Not great food, fbut morning weather is nice and every time I go there it reminds me of my first trips.

Thought about this a fair bit and must admit that even though I live here I really dont like the place at all. Its too smutty and all front, in your face munny, munny munny is all that the people in Pattaya want of you and if you are on a holiday from God knows where then that is Ok for you and you may easily forgive the price differentials of the two tier system.

As a full time resident Ex Pat I hate going into central Pattaya and only do so for the essentials that Big C (Carrefour) can offer

However

when you leave the bright side and the dark side and essay out into the more rural areas of Pattaya like the road around lake Mabrachan, just in time to witness the Sunrise as I and my Ozzie mate Rob do three times a week or so on our MTBs then you enter a different world so to speak, then off up to the Bira racing circuit up the back roa from the lake, so quiet and peaceful, down to Hui Hai, calling in for a fresh coconut drink at the old bike shop just before the T junction that leads down to Sukhumvit

There are so many quiet and lovely roads around the Pattaya area to mention but for me as stated the Sunrise over lake Mabrachan is pure magic and makes living on the borders of sin city so worthwhile
