November 25, 201510 yr obviously no one here remembers early loi krathong celebrations in bangkok when all the popular waterfront areas were basically war zones with hard alcohol and beer available every 5 meters and drunken yobs lighting off fireworks in the middle of the crowd. fire works and alcohol related incidents by the dozens in every location. loy kratong is a traditional religious activity. get drunk eslewhere. last year i was able to attend loy krathong with my kid and stress the tradition of the thing rather than stressing about her safety. i couldnt do that 10 years ago.
