This may seem like a daft question but I've never had any reason to use a re-entry permit.

However with the new single entry only tourist visas it will make visiting my family in Macau tricky as there is no Thai consulate in Macau.

Can I use a re-entry permit with a single entry tourist visa to enable me to fly to Macau and then return to Thailand while my singe entry visa is still valid.

Cheers

  • Yes you can.
  • You can get one at the airport or at an immigration office for 1,000 baht.

The re-entry permit only gives you the remainder of your original 60 day stay when you re-enter, so if you have less that 30 days remaining you might as well re-enter using visa exempt entry (if you qualify). A visa exempt entry will give you a full 30 day stay that can be extended by 30 days if needed.
