FangFerang
The Korean Mafia would not logically travel to Thailand to beat someone to death. It, of course, cannot be Thais that did it.

Bad for tourism I expect Actually, the post deliberately (and accurately) describes the location of the crime, which was not Pattaya.
Old Croc
That isn't no Korean Mafia. Strong odor of bullshit.. Again I hope they catch the Thais responsible... 7Heaven
Interesting that the post deliberately tries to avoid using the word "Pattaya" as the scene of the crime. Bad for tourism I expect Maybe because it was not in Pattaya (was found at a luxury resort on Thetsaban 1 Road near Wat Huay Yai temple in tambon Huay Yai, police said )
sanuk711
The Korean Mafia would not logically travel to Thailand to beat someone to death. It, of course, cannot be Thais that did it. About every month they (Koreans) are arrested for running the on-line gambling in Thailand, worth (they report many Millions $$) They do all that, but are daunted (you say) by the 2 hour plane flight if one of their "sect" has ripped them off etc. Your right (when in doubt about anything) lets blame the Thai population Edited November 23, 2015 by sanuk711
wandasloan
I wonder what evidence pointed them to this conclusion, I was half expecting it to be a suicide. Why do you wonder? The story is extremely clear on this point, repeatedly. Even clearer than describing where this took place, which was not Pattaya.
KhunBENQ
Some real ignorant posts here (not the Korean mafia, Thais did it). Seems those members haven't followed the strings of criminal activities of Koreans in this country. Thai police/immigration has a close watch on them. That can happen when visa regulations are lax. They get three month visa exempt (visa free) entry.

pogal
I went to a job where a Korean (a giant of a man) had punched to death another Korean man at a Korean Karaoke bar in Sukhumvit. It was not a "hit" but more of a compulsive anger problem I think but the purp was calm as ice and even in cuff's was asking for whiskey to be poured down his throat. The policeman there told me that the Korean mafia is well known in Bangkok but don't "seem" to get up to much there. My Japanese friend also has friends in the Japanese Yakuza here in Bangkok but they are also all businessmen now, they are smart and know the right people to pay off and business is good for them, so yes I do believe it could have been done by Korean mafia. jalansanitwong
The Koreans have their own district on Sukhumvit road Bangkok......Korea Town. Being only 25 ,i would say its highly likely he was whacked by Koreans who came down the highway or even took a quick flight from Korea....easy. The yakuza wont think twice about sending people o/seas to whack someone who strayed from the pack. The yakuza are here as are just about every mafia or crime syndicates from around the world. Germans,Scandinavian,Brits, Russians and Australian heroin syndicates to name a few. Australian crime families have been exporting heroin and buddha sticks since the 1970's. Presumably the senior cops all get paid off and that reduces the violence and arrest stats.
