5 year Thai driving licence not accepted for national parks

Apologise if this has been reported before, I am not going to search for it.

At Doi Intanon national park, foreigners are no longer able to gain access for the Thai price using the 5 year licence (which they have been since as long as I have been here.)

There is a very clear sign stating that unless you have a "Thai national identification number," then you are "not Thai" and must pay the foreigner price, (which by the way is now 300 baht)

I am not sure if this is the same around all national parks, but I would imagine it would be.

You are correct Wildpikey, this has been covered in another forum and been bashed to death over the moral issues attached to such practise.

Simple solution was if one doesnt like the charges then vote with your feet, not ideal but then we are but guests in this country.
