All very interesting !

That "visa" was obtained by means of a "conversion" from a tourist or visa exempt entry !

For those with good eyesight it will be noted that the Visa was cancelled on the day of issue ! That passport now contains a visa which has served its purpose and is of no further use.

Furthermore the posted picture relates in no way to "renewing a visa" or an "extension of stay"

You implied that visas are not issued by Immigration and asked for a photo - I provided that. Be aware, that is not unique either, cos me and my mate went and did it at the same time :-)

Of course it is stamped used on the day it was issued, exactly the same as a single entry would be upon entry to the country.

Not sure why you used the speech marks ? It is a visa not a "visa" - exactly the same visa as if I had been issued it outside of Thailand.

Then neither does your comment of "If you have a "visa" obtained from immigration then scan then post a picture of it here.

Many would be interested in seeing evidence of this unique "visa" !"

if you would get a "normal" contract from your employer you never have to leave the country to renew anything.

did you ask yourself the question, why your employer only gives you 12 month contract? i think the answer is: because he does not want to pay you any compensation. you have a right for compensation if contract gets canceled. (1 month salary for first 12 month, 3 month salary after 12 month, etc.)

maybe try to get a normal contract so you have a right to ask for this at a later point. ;-)

My school only gives yearly contracts and have never had to leave the country in 15 years. I don't even entertain the prospect of compensation as it is a private school. I could not fathom what the OP needs to get new visas every year, as opposed to an extension in Thailand. Probably what the OP is doing, even if legal, is raising a few eyebrows at immigration. I've certainly never been questioned by them when I come in and out of the country on a re-entry permit.

Had you read the whole link you would have realised that what was being claimed was that a one "year visa" was being renewed at immigration! If that were true then that visa would indeed be unique and, as yet, no picture of this "special visa" has been posted

The one posted here is not "special" and you will note that it was cancelled on the day of issue and only allowed a 90 day stay !

The normal reason a company would send you for visas and not extensions of stay is because they are paying you below the minimum wage for an extension of stay.

Quick questions of the OP that could clear up some confusion:

Do you have a blue book work permit for Thailand? If so, did you present it to Immigration on reentry?

why would anyone do that?

My work permit sat in my desk drawer for around 10 years where it was supposed to be.

not once in those 10 years did take it out of the country, let alone show it to an immigration officer on my way back in.
