I overstayed my 30day stamp. I didn't intend too but I am in a bind much larger than should be described here. I am usually quite vigilant about this kind of stuff but extenuating circumstances led me to goof up.

None the less my question is "What will happen to my when I leave?"

I know there will be the Bt500/day fine. Would there be a problem if i went on a visa run overland? If i flew down to Singapore and back for an overnight, could i come back in?

At this point i am unsure what my future holds and I am seeking the most responsible manner of rectifying my situation, while allowing me to stay in this area as long as i can.

Thanks.

Depart by air and hope for the best. Be prepared to pay 500 baht per day up to 20k in cash. You are normally allowed to return but do it soon as you are at risk of arrest if local police stop you for any reason.

Pretty much the same advice here:-

If it's only a couple of days, don't fret, just pay at the airport (500 Baht per day), you will be able to come straight back. :D

DO NOT attempt to be a Cheap Charlie and do a land border run, it's not unknown for the police to stop the buses and remove overstayers (even one day) for detainment and deportation, not what you want. :o

The stamp expired on October 4. My circumstances resolved themselves and I shall be flying to Hong Kong on Tuesday afternoon.

Till then, I shall stay do my best stay out of trouble. Shouldn't be hard, I am not muck of a rabble-rouser anymore....gimmee a plate of khao kaa moo and I am knocked out on the couch by 2200. :o

Thanks guys.
