byteHunter
Hello together, i have 2 questions (not sure this is the right forum but i have no idea wich one it would be): 1. what are the opening times from Chon Mek borderpoint?. In i-net i found something about 4.00pm, is that correct? 2. do they make back to back visa-exempts?
ubonjoe
Not sure but I think the closing time is 6 pm. But the Lao visa on arrival office could close earlier. They will do a another visa exempt exempt after you have gotten one already. Have you extended you current visa exempt entry for 30 days at an immigration office. I have visa exempt.
ubonjoe
They will let you cross and re-enter without a problem.
Briggsy
I have definitely crossed there at 8 am. And it was already open when I arrived at 7:30.
ubonjoe
I think it is open 6 am to 6 pm. But more than likely the Lao VOA office does not open until 8 and and closes at 5 pm.
sbf
Hi the Thai side closes for foreigners at 6.00pm, or at least that was the situation a few months ago. We arrived a minute or two late ex Laos on the Thai side. The Thai officials saw us arrive by car and graciously stayed open and stamped us through. I think they said it was later for Thai passport holders and their vehicles or something similar. No problem getting stamped out of Laos just before 6pm.
