Police on Sukhumvit (Passing Udom Suk)

Featured Replies

Hey,

I was curious... I live on Sukhumvit next to the BTS station and I've seen a dozen police vehicles pass one by one over the course of the past 15 minutes. I've never seen more than one at a time. They've all been going the same directions with sirens blazing. Does anyone know what happened? That's a very large amount of police to be heading out to one site.

Additional details: They're heading towards Asok, so northbound on Sukhumvit.
I heard about a fire at the Planetarium near Ekkamai but that's unconfirmed as the reason. Just a small note: another 4 or 5 vehicles have continued to pass.

I found a twitter thread that had some images. it appeared to be dying down but looked sizable for a while.

A shame, I was thinking about bringing the wife's nieces and nephews out to see the planetarium...

Just wondering how you would see anything from a planetarium in Bangkok, one of the cities with the worst light pollution in the world where there's no such thing as a dark night.

I don't want to sound rude so hopefully this is taken as informational but...

Planetariums are indoors. They're not telescopes or night viewing sights. They usually have large domed screens or projectors that project the images of the stars onto the top of the dome. They can be exceptionally beautiful and are as close to traveling through space as we can get for the moment. I recommend you visit one but apparently not the one in Bangkok now tongue.png.

Looks more like a kiddie-party.

Generally they're for kids as kids can use their imaginations. I guess it wouldn't attract the likes of you, I assume you came to Thailand for the sole purpose of getting laid since you couldn't in your hometown.

Or worse, y ou like the kiddies, then you REALLY shouldn't go.
