BANGKOK: -- Latin rock fans in Bangkok, get ready to go crazy: legendary musician and top guitarist Santana returns to the city next year.

As part of his worldwide “Luminosity Tour 2016,” the Mexican-American musician will be playing his fusion of rock, blues and jazz, live at the Impact Arena, with support from Thai folk band Carabao.

The artist behind hits “Blues for Salvador,” “Smooth,” “Maria Maria,” “El Farol,” “The Calling,” “Put Your Lights On,” “The Game of Love,” and many more, Santana rose to fame in the 1960s and has since notched up several awards and record milestones over the years.

Sek Loso and Santana jamming together be a better choice in my opinion...

Ever notice the big acts like Stones/ACDC those with huge stage sets never come to Thailand. Could it be because of staffing? e.g. they may have their own crews to erect the stage say 100-200 staff and would it be because of Thailand's restrictive visa work policies that they don't come? i.e. they don't want a bunch of incompetent Thai's putting their stage together.

I think that will be a great gig

Saw Santana live in August in USA. Was a fantastic concert. Had to sit through a set of his son performing his own songs. The son's a good musician but not a great singer.

Don't see why the article has to mention all of Santana's hits or Calabao as most people in the world know Santana and everyone in Thailand knows Calabao. My wife got to do a music video with Calabao a month after I met her and I have never been able to see it 25 years later.

This will be the second time Santana and Carabao play together in Bangkok. A little background on this. Aed Carabao was influenced by Carlos. Aed is a good friend of one of my oldest friend's whom I've worked with in the music business for 40 years. He contacted Carlos and talked him into coming and play with Carabao. Carlos had never sold out a show in Bangkok before he played with Carabao. They had a great time together so now they're doing it again!

Saw them at Impact a few years back when they played together... was a great concert, but get some good seats! Mine were a bit far up in the balcony.

Eric Clapton's played in Thailand a few times, Elton John was here 2 weeks ago,he's quite keen on extravagant sets

Angus Young told me once he would never play in Bangkok so long as native English speakers in Thailand weren't able to use the apostrophe regarding plurals correctly, he feared the full meaning of lyrics of songs such as 'Highway to Hell could be misinterpreted.

Thai music promoters are surely among the Nations most upstanding examples of business ethics and transparency.

ROTFLMAO!
