I have a Double Entry TV the visa sticker says ENTER BEFORE 08/02/2016. My question. Can i enter on the 08th of february or is my last possibility to enter on 7th february ?

Sorry for this question, i checked the forum and its seem not total clear for me to enter before or as a last chance on the :"ENTER BEFORE" date.

Thanks for answer.

Normal meaning is before the end of the 8th - unless you meet an immigration officer that knows we usually would take the enter before to mean just that. Do not believe there is any issue but I would still plan to do on the 7th and just use the 8th as my delayed option.

An ever recurring question tongue.png

Unfortunately I can not remember and probably not find a confirmed report from someone who used it on the "ENTER BEFORE" date.

But if you believe that there is at least a little bit of logic in Thai visa affairs:

The tourist visas are described to be valid for 3 or 6 months and

the enter before date is always 3 or 6 months in calendar date MINUS ONE DAY.

So the issue date of your visa should read "9 Aug 2015" (9 Aug 2015 - 8 Feb 2016).

Right?

This would completely fit the Thai immigration logic regarding date calculation and you can use the visa on the 8th.

Will they ever use a wording that seems to confuse about every reader angry.gif

Thanks all.

I will try my luck on the 8th february, because i still have a flight ticket from KL to BKK on this date. I will leave Thailand on 07/04/2016 to Vietnam ( = exactly 60days that i need)

On my flight out of Thailand i will ask immigration officer about this.

And please report back!

7 April (07/04/2016) is correct due to 2016 being a leap year.

I will report, ok. But next year we have a leap-year so february has +1day.

The terminology of "enter before " is confusing but easy to understand if you think that day ends at midnight.

Thus "enter before" (date) means you must enter before midnight (2400 hours) on that date.

As for example "enter before 9 December" would mean you must enter before midnight on 9 December....or in the military

24 hour system you must enter before 2400 hours on the 9th of December.

It was one of the few useful things learned in my 5 year military stint.
