NCPO permits NACC to commence with chairman selection

BANGKOK, 10 December 2015 (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam revealed the five newly appointed commissioners of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) can begin selecting their chairman without waiting for their positions to be royally endorsed.

Mr Wissanu also revealed that the National Council for Peace and Order has called for NACC Chairman Panthep Klanarong to step down, in order for the selection process to commence.

The five new commissioners together with the four incumbents can now begin the process of selecting their new chairman without having to wait for royal endorsement. Mr Wissanu noted that the previous NACC had also appointed their chairman without royal endorsement.
