UK expats for EU exit

Recommended Posts

Will be voting to leave the incompetent, corrupt, insane European Union. June 23rd 2016. Its already a sinking ship.

If anyone can explain the benefits of the EU, please do tell.

I will be voting OUT for the benefits of my grandkids.

Economic strength, jobs, freedom to travel and live in the EU, combined forces to fight crime and terrorism. Isolation and misguided nationalism won't benefit your grandkids.

Economic strength, the U.K. Gains no economic strength due to the EU. By the way Switzerland is not in the EU,yet it seems to be doing OK.

Re, Jobs , you are aware of course that many jobs ( mostly un-skilled ) that should be for the UK work force are being undercut by EU nationals. Soon to be joined by citizens of Bosnia and Turkey. Where the wages for those lucky to be employed is only a fraction of the wages on offer in the UK. Again this will mostly effect the lower end of the labour market. But " hey"why worry about them,I'm alright mate.

Organizations to fight crime and terrorism will remain the same,as it's in ever bodies interest.

Isolation, exactly the opposite. The U.K. Will still trade with the EU, as again it's in every bodies interest. With the added advantage that the UK would be able to make trading agreements with the rest of the WHOLE world.

If we stay in the EU there will not be a UK for our grandchildren.

To be honest at my age its not going to matter what happens, its just that I am sick of Britain having to fund the lifestyles of the freeloaders in Brussels, and prop up the ailing economies of the likes of Greece,I remember a better time in Britain when it was run for British people ,not the dregs of the world that scrounge off us ,I know its only a small proportion of real scroungers ,but I pay in all my life and my thanks is a frozen pension yet some Somalian gets a 1.3 million pound house and benefits to sit on his ar_se all day

Yet when you look at the money section of the daily mail there is a poll there and its about 80% out to 20% I never believe in polls

At least the EU has some warmer places that pensioners can bugger off to and not lose any indexed rises or health entitlements.

Even the Orient.

Leaving will change that....no pensioners in the south of spain....unless they get visas and 90 day reporting and pay for health care

My gut feeling is that HMG will 'Grandfather' existing claimants in mainland EU if given the boot.

No treaty no pension increases....and do you think say spain will give them free healthcare?

Posted

The pension increases will remain for European ex pats. This is because the issue is whether or not a bi lateral social security agreement is in force. For instance, our cousins in the Philippines receive the increases and that's nowhere near the EU.

However, the question of free access to healthcare may well become an issue as that is an EU arrangement.

I'm still undecided, but making sure I have a postal vote.

Boris Johnson to campaign to leave the EU!

Bumbling idiots like Boris, George Galloway and Farage, not to mention the downright scary Gove, are not likely to do much to attract undecideds!

Ah here it comes. Bumbling! I know who is muttering now. Of course you got Cameron with Corbyn backing EU armageddon.. Loser

Indeed, Cameron is a smarmy git and no one listens to Corbyn. But on average, much like in the 1975 referendum, there are more loons on the OUT side. Just look at UKIP!

I think most people now realise that the British electorate were conned into joining, what is now called the EU in 1975. Let's hope that in 2016 they are not deceived into remaining in this corrupt organisation.

As for UKIP, you do of course know that Cameron is so sure of the benefits for staying in, that for some unknown reason,he is scared s--t to face Nigel Farage

In a televised discussion on the actual facts of this so called Union.

The London Labour Party thought Boris was a "buffon" in two elections. I know who finished looking the clowns!

In another significant blow to David Cameron, Sky News understands that leading 'Brexit' campaigners are expecting a majority of the Conservative parliamentary party to back the leave campaign.

While not all MPs have declared their intention yet, there is increasing confidence in the out camp that at least 165 will defy the Prime Minister.

Things are definitely not looking good for Cameron. I suspect that his '' Deal '' is now being seen for the sham that it is.

More good news courtesy of Gideon.

A former adviser to George Osborne has said the chancellor is likely to mount a £4bn raid on pension savings by scrapping tax-free allowances on lump sums in a bid to save more cash for the Treasury.

Steve Webb, himself a former pensions minister, says hundreds of thousands of people would suffer from Osborne’s “tax bombshell” that some fear could come as soon as the budget next month.

Its an across part alliance and whether you like them or not Galloway and Farage are very good debaters and as for Boris clearly you dont know him, I have seen him in action with a crowd and knows how to win people over, he is a very clever man, dont under estimate him, just because he looks untidy and gives the impression he is a clown dont be fooled and whilst most politicians dont listen to the people, maybe, just maybe they now have a champion who speaks for them.

The article I read said it wont come to fruition if at all until about 10 years hence, so it wont affect anyone retired or coming up close and do remember that Steve now works for a Pension Provider, perhaps he is just drumming up business with a scare tactic.

The budget is less than 2 months away I dont expect to see anything in it but at as always keep a close eye on people that want your money, the autumn statement is where we might see something as, according to Stevie the shift might be towards more ISA style pensions and just as point for anyone that is interested about ISAs, they are tax free for you but if you leave an ISA fund in your will it then becomes taxable, you might like to spend it or gift it before you leave us.

You might also think about using a proxy vote, you can load it an post it off if you have someone who can do it for you, its on the ugov site and I think it takes about a week to go through so plenty of time. I have written to my MP to ask if she would be my proxy, I await the reply, she is one of the "out" cabinet ministers so am hopeful.

What a wonderful way to win an argument.

Just insult people and their intelligence.

All 3 of those people you mention are and have been successful in their careers and are well known and respected both nationally and internationally.

Does anybody outside Thai Visa even know or care who you are? How much influence do you have on international affairs?

You're upset because I'm insulting politicians?!! I haven't chosen to be in politics but if I had I would expect insults as part of the job. Maybe you're unaware of what the likes of Jeremy Corbyn and Donald Trump have had to put up with recently! Being sensitive and thin-skinned is not advisable for a political career, so I do hope you're not considering one!
